Why Riot?

Don't get me wrong, I was super happy when I saw that a new champion got revealed so early and I think I will play him a lot, but...can I ask why? I mean, this isn't your style. Usually, you tease the new champion after 2-3 months, then you reveal him. This time, no teaser, no 2-3 month wait (barely 2 weeks) and BAM revealed out of nothing. It's simply not Riot's way to reveal champions, why did you choose to reveal Azir in this way and this early?

I think Riot is trying to take their style in more of a, "When they're ready, we'll release them, and not a day earlier or later" direction. I'm presonally in support of this. I want quality over quantity, but I also don't want to have to wait for the sake of waiting.

ZenontheStoic also mentioned in an Azir questioning that Gnar was delayed, but Azir remained on track so that also contributed towards the small amount of downtime.

Also they did say that they would speed up releases at the end of the season. So now is around that time. Also, there is a big lore event coming soon so I doubt that they need to tease more than they already have.

According to a thread yesterday, that I cannot find, they delayed Gnar a number of times. This caused the release of Gnar and the new champion to be a lot closer than originally planned.
