I feel that every "pure" stat item should have the ability to be upgraded into the next stat stick. That would allow players the opportunity to more gradually grow their champions instead of hitting huge points. It's just a thought I've had. Defensive items already have this ability, so I was just wondering why offensive items don't get it, too.

The point is, especially for AD Champions, to put good investments into your long term game plan. It's not a coincidence that the BF Sword also upgrades into one of the single most powerful AD items for a Marksman to buy. Making it too easy lowers the barrier to power spikes and snowballing, and puts far less pressure on the end game monsters that rely on these big and heavy stat stick upgraded late game items.

Bork suffers this issue, though, PBE changes might fix make it not so crazy, but currently live: It was intended to be a later purchase to deal with tanks, but instead became a super good early game rush item for a few carries as it does just as well against squishies as it does tanks even early game. It also gives sustain, a solid active, and the components are ridiculously cheap compared to the other item rush options.
