Is Yasuo the new Riven?

I see Yasuo getting the same level of hate to the champion, players and design as Riven. People literally do not care if the champion was removed and they trash talk the players of the champion all day(then wonder why the players of said champion are toxic). They point out everything the players playing them do wrong, and assume the worst of them from the moment they see them in champion select.

Is Yasuo just the new Riven?

For those of you who don't know yet, I main , neither of these champions.

I'm pretty sure Yasou and Riven were always hated champions.

Independently and since their inception.

idk i feel like Yasuo had a quiet moment for awhile (Mostly during metas in which he was trash)

Riven didn't go anywhere though so Yasuo didn't replace Riven.

Both are awful designed champions that were just designed to look cool to make money without regards to balance.

He is. Even teemo is less hated than Yasuo now. Yeah, and the boards also have a nazi-like attitude towards Yasuo atm.

Yeah pretty much. They'll come to accept him a couple years from now just like they did with Riven.

People only really started accepting Riven this season since itemization changes and nerfs left her rather weak (thus played significantly less often and easier to beat).

After her buffs (and the rerelease of Championship Riven), people are starting to see her again and the hate is coming back.

Her buffs weren't that great but the rerelease of Championship Riven could have something to do with a lot of people playing her again(Though I still don't see many other Rivens).

I don't understand why people complain about Riven's shield though, I mean, Lux gets one that scales with AP, so does Karma(I hate Karma personally though, but for other reasons), and a lot of other champions get shields based on AP when they are AP casters. Why does Riven having one that scales with her main stat make a difference?(Also she isn't the ONLY one with an AD shield now so people can't complain about her being the only one anymore).

As for Yasuo, I think he's always been a hated champion. Having two passives alone is pretty annoying, but combine that with being able to buy one cloak of agility and having 40% crit is pretty powerful, and a 5 man Malphite ult pretty much guarantees a won teamfight.

The short answer is yes.

Its interesting to note that these two are connected by lore. No significance, just pointing out that they have a lot in common.

I'll be honest, the hate toward Yas at least makes sense. Free 2x crit chance, free armor pen and a rather powerful passive shield should never meet, especially if he is going to have some CC and mobility added in.

Riven has the shield, CC and mobility, but she is useless if she can't dash/cast abilities and lacks free armor pen and doesn't crit. Yasuo is still combat effective while silenced or snared.
