Is support worth playing anymore?

I play as a Thresh main. I feel like I play pretty consistent and do well in the bot lane. Constantly applying pressure, great vision, burning the enemy sums and of course doing my best to get my ADC fed. A huge part of my problem is the other lanes. What do you support mains do when they constantly feed? It feels hopeless when I constantly hear a fellow laner constantly being killed and not fixing their mistake. We end up having to deal with a fed top or mid laner, meanwhile our jungler is for whatever reason smackin around the jungle camps as the enemy team snowballs. It just seems like I run into this scenario all the time. Is this why support isn't a popular position? I'm getting tired of running into this and am highly considering ditching the support role. Being stuck in gold sucks.

Support usually isn't a popular position because most people want to be the ones getting kills, not feeding their ADC. If your lane is doing fine, you should apply your lead into the mid lane, roam up there. Extra pressure. more win.

Like I said, I apply pressure and roam when I can. The question is what do you do when the other lanes are feeding? And no one listens? I'm at such a frustrating elo. Everyone seems to just act like children, flame, talk trash, feed, cry, whine. I was seriously hoping for Plat but this just seems impossible. I'm sick of gold.

I could only imagine. I'm pretty frustrated right now with low gold and their way of thinking. I was hoping to see if maybe I'm missing something in my macro as a support. There's no reason why I should be losing a lot of my matches, yet they slip away. Sucks.

I get what he is saying. Its like this. As support when top lane is 0/5 and mid is 1/6 all the jungle ganks / top tp are going bot to help that lane. At this point the top is at least 3 lvls over you and will have 2 completed items. They will just two shot you adc. Doesn't matter how good you play. Once you group fight everyone on your team dies too fast. Its already over. Even if you can win your lane and get a few fights. The level difference is just too high. Top and jungle will be lvl 8 when you are 6. This is a HUGE gap.

So for support you have an impact if the teams are on = skill/playing level. But if the game is a snow in either way it doesn't matter what a support does.

This he reason I like fiddle. I have the damage to carry a bad adc, I can make-up for another lost lane damage. I can fear or support the carries. But I can also dragon with drain. This allow us to get dragon since most junglers are bad.

use a damage support til high gold / plat. There just isn't a team play/ understand in low levels. This is the reason so many compline about UP champs.

Pretty much this. It makes me feel useless as a support when this happens. On the flip side, if I decide to go mid I usually end up with a poor / feeding bot lane. Double edged sword I guess.

its easy to climb out of bronze as supp.... step 1 pick annie or morg or zil...step 2 build ap ss item and get kills becuase fck your adc step 3 you will carry and win

you also have to deal with the fact that the adc builds wrong....like this i give my adc fb with a double what does he do .....he backs and buys regen pot, boots, attack speed item the 300 gold one and brawlers gloves......as supp i was pissed befause the adc built wrong and what did the enemy adc buy hmm pickaxe becuase they were smart and that double kill with fb basically didnt happen due to you not itemizing right

Playing any position doesn't fix the problem you just described. No matter where you play, you can't control the actions of the other lanes. If you play top, what is to stop your bottom lane from feeding with you not being there. There is only one thing you can do no matter which position you are in. Make the most impact towards your team's victory as possible. If you are continuously a factor in why your team does well then you will climb. I'm in the same boat as you with being low gold in pretty much every season but I don't think it is because my teammates. I think it is just because a lack of games played in my case.

Why is it that people climb easily with champs like Janna then? Do I need to use her just for the sake of climbing? I mean it's seriously frustrating how many times I melt my lane, roam, help others and we still lose. I'm seriously lost. I hit a heavy drop from Gold 1 and now I'm sitting in this horrible Gold 4. No one listens to a thing and the term "group" doesn't exist. There must be _something _ that can be done, otherwise other players wouldn't make the climb. I feel like I outclass so many players in my matches, but I can't help the actions of the rest of my team. Really sucks.

Support is better than in any previous seasons though. Locket redemtion makes you able to have a big teamfight impact. I would recommend playing duo with a decent adc if you want to climb. Remember that you only have to have better impact than the same role on the enemy team to have over 50% winrate, in theory.

But my problem is playing with a team that's behind. What is a support to do? Mid, top or jg feed (one or 2 of the 3) but we are doing okay bot. Sometimes well enough to roam, sometimes it's kind of a stalemate. Once laning is over, we are screwed come team fights. That, or their fed laner comes for the 3 man bot gang bang and the rest is history. At that point I feel extremely useless on my match impact. Can't really engage any hooks since they're fed, meanwhile I'm pleading with my team to play safe as they constantly engage on a death wish skrimish / fight. Maybe there isn't a clear cut answer, I don't know. I'm just frustrated with how often this happens and am curious if someone has some way of turning this around.
