I'm sick of these "Where's Urf?" posts

I'm truly sick of it. Riot said over a month ago that there would be no Urf. Also the people saying "Oh we will only have four days of Urf this year with each weekend of it being two days" are false. Here is what L4T3NCY said when asked "What times exactly is the queue going to be active?": We’re aiming to have the queue available every weekend starting around Friday afternoon and switching off sometime early on Monday morning. This will be in the local time for each region. The goal is to have it up once the weekend starts (that’s Friday night right?! :P) so we should get three evenings of fast game mode funtimes. This is just a first implementation, if the queue proves to be exceedingly popular, we can always lengthen the window.

So this means that Urf could be here from Friday afternoon until the next gamemode is put live. This means 7 days of Urf and it would happen twice, resulting in 14 days total of Urf, which is the same as last year.

Edit: I sick of the Rengar killing Draven gifs too.

Urf is extremely overhyped. It literally comes down to two distinct types of games:

1.) Pick the most overbearing long range casters. AKA Ezreal Jayce Lux Nidalee Varus Xerath , etc. Use them in a team of five. (Edit: this most likely includes Jhin now)

2.) pick the most ridiculous close range champs you can think of. champs who will REALLY just rip you a new one if you get even remotely close to them, like 1000 units.

I still don't understand why people like that mode so much. IMO it's the worst one ever released.

Discover top 6 most broken champs, Ban them every game. (usually healers) Discover next top 5 most broken champs, Put them on every team every single game. Permanently remove Top 5 champs from the mode. Rinse, Wash, Repeat, until there is only a pool of 10 available champs.

that's why I pick people like shaco and lb against these try hards in this game mode... I just use my abilities to dodge everythin and get their whole team to chase me around the map lol... Imo screw winning in this mode I'm here to have fun

May not be the best "extra game mode", but it's way more fun than the current normal / ranked shitfest.

I remember I played Ahri and some other random played Nidalee in a 2v2 lane Top. It was really cool to see an Ahri and Nidalee Q every .9 seconds, but it must of been absurdly irritating for the enemy laners who weren't able to really do anything without getting chunked instantly.

I really wondere where all these people have been, when Riot announced that URF won't come to live on April's Fool.. That's how you can see, how much they actually pay attention to plans but rather just seek reasons to jerk around once it hits (or does not hit in this case) live servers.

You see how interessted the community CAN be with the MYMU topics and the insane amount of constructive feedback given there. But no one bothered when it was officially declared that URF will be part of Rotation Queue instead of being an April's Fool thing.

ps. I welcome this desicion.

NURF was publically announced on the front page and was very obviously a joke.

The announcement this year was in the forums and was in a serious thread.

While you can certainly argue that this means people that do not usually follow the forums or surrender at 20 would not know that URF isn't coming back yet, they're very obviously two different situations.

Except they said the same thing last year...and also, why would they release URF skins, with no URF? Doesn't make sense. I still think it's coming...Also, just because it is possible for 14 days of URF, doesn't mean there will definitely be 14 days of URF. We can safely say there will be 2 1/2 days of URF x 2. But we can't just assume there will be 14 days of it based on a statement saying it could be lengthened to a week.

why would they release URF skins, with no URF? some urf skins came out before the gamemode. Urf was a joke character long ago.

People are lazy enough to not read anything about the rotating game modes, but not lazy enough to flood the board with posts about something they are have no information at all. And anyway URF is cool but it kinda gets old since it always has a strong meta with little variety.

Psst. Reread the answer L4T3NCY gave. The time window for which the game mode is available can be extended meaning it could last until the next gamemode comes. Which means 7 days and 7 x 2 = 14.

I'd be fine with having URF if people wouldn't whine about it. The more whining I see, the luckier people are that I'm not in charge at Riot.

Because at this point I'd be handling them all like children: "keep complaining and NOBODY is getting URF......oh? you don't believe me? Okay. URF is permanently in the vault. You'll never see it again. You COULD have WAITED and LISTENED to what we said, but no. You thought that by whining you'd get your way. Sorry kids! Not happening."

Seriously. I just want to take the game-mode and put it away forever thanks to this annoyance. It'd be fine if it stayed on the boards but I can't go to Facebook, Youtube, or Twitch without hearing it too.

It is, however they said in their post about the Rotating Gamemode that the time could be extended based on the modes popularity. Seeing how Urf is one of, if not the most beloved gamemode in league, it will most likely be extended until the next mode comes.

Indeed. Though it is not guaranteed as some gamemodes are less popular than the others, such as Hexakill or Nemesis Draft. They are simply not as shiny but offer a twist.

Well, give the community a little credit: From the first time URF was rolled out to the second time it was rolled out, you would get "Bring Back URF" posts on every fucking news release, all year round. This season, the URF QQ'ers have been relatively quiet, and only expected URF around this time. I'd say that compared to last year, they've been relatively restrained.

Plus, while I didn't like URF when it first rolled out, I loved it the second time around. I guess it's because I discovered this bastard: Ryze Complete faceroll every game. Like 30 kills. Although I need to give credit to my partner-in-crime, Teemo , whose shrooms littered the map and served as teleportation points so I could come from any direction at just about any time. This is the anti-tilt game; it's just great for messing around and de-stressing.

Im not sure where this information was released that there would be no URF this year. Im on the boards and playing LoL every single day and I had no idea about it what so ever.

Im not really in an uproar about the lack of URF, but I do find all the draven heads to be extremely annoying in games. I would have preferred they just did nothing tbh.

But this whole thing speaks to a larger issue riot has had for quite a while. They don't really make it easy for people to find important information if they aren't seriously looking for it. If someone, based on the fact that URF was put out the previous two april fools days, simply assumed URF would be out again this april fools, and didn't bother to investigate the matter, its really not their fault. By releasing URF the previous two years, riot created a precedent by which people would base an assumption, and without making it painfully easy for said peoples to know that this assumption was incorrect, they can be said to have seriously dropped the ball.

Say what you will about this years april fools and the people complaining about no URF; but you really cant deny riot has always had a major problem with communicating information to their community members that don't want to or don't have the time to invest in digging around the site for it.
