Two Duos that were communicating with each other got into a game on opposite teams. One of the duos were playing Vladimir and Tristana and the Other were playing Nasus and Veigar . All of these champs had some form of infinite scaling on them. Nasus and Veigar on their q's, Vladimir had Grasp to stack health, and Tristana had dark harvest. The fact that they were duo's allowed them to prevent either team from surrendering. Since both duo's had inf scaling and the rest of the players didn't, this allowed them to take control of the game and prevent anyone progressing. By the 1.5 hour mark 5/6 non premades had quit. The Alistar who made the reddit post stuck out the entirety of the game because he was afraid of being punished for leaving a game. The fact that this game doesn't have some form of protection like this yet is just sad.

Edit: I just read through all of the comments as of 1/1/18 and I'm going to answer some questions that some people had. *The point of this thread was that there is no form of leaver protection yet, not that there isn't anything preventing friends from playing on opposite teams.

*By the time the other 6 people had realized what was going on, it was too late and their stats couldn't compete with infinitely stacking abilities.

*While yes it does feel like a one in a million chance of happening, this has been gaining more attention, hell it has 25k upvotes on the reddit post last time I checked. It might get even more common. So my question for you is, would you still have the same mentality if this happened in one of your ranked games?

This really feels like once in a million chance of happening. Punish them accordingly, you don't need to create a whole new standard for it.

Riot should punish these people as an example. They could have done that in a custom game but instead took a game hostage.

True democracy in games would help. 3 votes yes = a surrender and 4 votes yes = an early surrender.

Something that would prevent friends from playing one another? This seems like a highly unusual event.

getting couple premades in 1 match on both sides is really hard, second why is it sad on riots part? what can riot do for people that just Q up?

all riot can do here is punish those if they broke any rule.

Yeah... this is not that hard a problem to solve. This is an extremely rare thing to happen. Riot just needs to Tyler1 these players as hard as it possibly can to make a statement of "we do not tolerate this toxic bullcrap". Find their mains, and perma them. Bam. Done. The problem isn't that this kinda crap happens and we need to make some system so friends can't queue together or whatever... it's that extreme troll shit like this is hardly ever punished.

If riot took a hard stance on the most extreme trolls in the game, the game would end up with less trolls. Funny how that works. Perma these guys... along with that Tahm/Anivia duo that used to shut down games in bronze by repeatedly eating/walling in a member of their team for like 10 minutes to ensure a loss. What's more, they should make a big deal about doing it. Put up a post on the main client saying "these idiots were permabanned... don't act like these idiots". Riot needs to police it's own players better, that's all.

Just make it so that if the game lasts longer than like 1:30, it's safe to leave without losing lp, hell, you can even start a new game how about that?

Just perma ban them, it's not rocket science. I mean these guys are going out of the way to ruin games and have 2 game recorded doing this as evidence and obviously enjoy ruining people's time. Their whole youtube channel is dedicated to ruining games like this, perma ban them.

If it's a 6v4 then all you have to do is work with the three on the other team who are being abused.

Work together to feed one team kills and buffs, and have them all push a lane, while the other three choose not to defend, but just clear jungle camps / split push if the duo on the 'attack' team decides to try and get stacks for their scaling by staying with their team.

The attacking three just hit all three lanes at once, and toss in a zzrot portal as well to speed up the tower pushing. The two defenders either focus on wave clear, which means they don't scale as hard, or they focus on scaling, which gives you a chance to push deeper into their base in one of the lanes.

End goal if to have all three inhibs down in one base, then get elder dragon and baron on the attacking team. At that point you should be able to close out the game, or at least get 1 or 2 nexus turrets, at which point you repeat that process until you win.

It's still probably going to be a game that lasts over an hour, but it would definitely be done before the 4 hour mark.

The only way this kind of abuse is possible is because people would rather quit the game than play a long game.

This is the video of the whole game they have posted on youtube and you can clearly see they are not trying to end the game

My proposed solution:

Make surrender votes only require 3 Yes votes after 1 hour 30 min. This would remain consistent with the pre-20 min votes requiring unanimous Yes votes, and would remove all power from duos to hold a game hostage for hours on end. This also sets the upper limit of the 3 Yes votes well beyond most reasonable game times. The vast majority of games are over by 1 hour 30 min, so the likelihood of this affecting real games is very, very low.
