They said at least a month ago that Urf wouldn't be here due to the new Rotating queue yet they still have people crying about it not being here. I'm going to be honest, I don't like the Draven Day stuff that much but I can stand it and wait for Urf to come with rotating queue.

There is one thing they are right, though. The fact that you can receive content you already enabled. Not only that, for those who own all the champions, blue essence is useless (unless you plan to save it for the next time they release a champion, but if you own all champions, iyou probably have enough IP to buy the new champion regardless)
Riot, however, has said they will solve both of those issues. Wonder when they are going to do that, though.

EfficientDynamo6 votesI think the issue people are taking with the hextech crafting system is that, given how hard boxes and key shards are to get, it feels like a gimmick to coax money out of players while being wrapped in the guise of free content. Nobody has a problem with skins costing money, but people have a problem with a company saying "here is free stuff!" but instead delivering "here is free stuff... that you can maybe earn eventually, over the space of a season."

i could see how someone who might have spent, say $20 on a few skins could easily end up spending $40 within hextech chasing key fragments.
One feels malicious, the other doesn't.

Personally, I couldn't care less about the rotating game mode because, in my opinion, coming out with a gamemode every couple of months and having it be available for a couple of weeks is better than having urf for two days then having to wait for six more months for it to be playable again.

"Modes will likely repeat every 1.5~2 months." Said by L4T3NCY on the post he made regarding the rotating game modes. That being said, one queue a weekend meaning 6-8 game modes. They have tested 2 modes on PBE now in the past 3 weeks so that means they will get through all 6-8 (assuming we keep this pace) by mid May. If we start rotating queues by the first of June that gives us 30 weeks of rotating queue which is 5 or almost 4 rotations (30/6 and 30/8). That is 12-15 days of URF for Friday-Sunday. Congratulations.

Not many people are toxic in modes such as URF, at least not nearly as much as ranked or normals.

Don't forget that they said URF will be back -at least- twice in 2016 and that every gamemode will be in the queue every 1-2 months. If the new queue comes out before say, October, we'll probably get URF at least three times this year. Next year, likely 6 times minimum.

That RIOT knows that nearly noone would quit Leauge over something like this and all the hate on Reddit will be forgotten in a week, so they just were like : "hey, lets make some money and fck our fans over, they wont be able to do anything anyway". Just makes me feel really bad. But maybe thats what happens when a game gets bigger and more commercialized.

In order to CANCEL something, Riot has to first announce it. AND SINCE THEY NEVER DID (in fact doing EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE), URF wasn't "cancelled".
