When fizz, akali and now Jax are building tanky and not for any damage...

Something is seriously wrong. Either IBG and Sunfire are too strong... or Trinity, BotRK, Rageblade and the other items that these champs have bought are too weak.

Yes Jax is now most effective following the really boring IBG + Sunfire build that nearly every other top laner is building after the deletion of sated and major nerf to rageblade's effective power in 6.9

Irelia is doing alright... for now. But I fear riot nerfing Trinity again will kill her resistance to this meta golem soon as well. I would not put it past Riot to nerf Trinity at this point because only Yasuo, Gangplank, Corki and Irelia are making good use of it and consistently buying it. Marksmen who they shifted the power of it to be more ideal for in preseason are not showing interest in the item over other options (blue ez anyone?).

Riot, it might not be that IBG and Sunfire are too strong but simply that everything else that top laners would build has become too weak.

There are literally no worthwhile attack speed items that are not tied to crit chance or some kind of Magic damage scaling factor be it AP or MR shredding making the cost not worth getting. And BotRK which is the item that could most easily be fixed can likely not be buffed because marksmen would break it because they now have no real tradeoff in buying Hurricane unlike past seasons where it gave only attack speed and the 2 "bolts".

This web is so much bigger then this but to tell it all would take hours and the original problem being addressed would be lost. Would be lost.
