For those who question why I use to like Wit's end so much perhaps I should explaine why.
This is based on the season 2 stats from one of those filthy season 2 Irelia mains.day.
If I recall it was a Recurvebow + null magic mantle + dagger. 2000 to 2200 cost depending on on the patch Unique: 42 on hit magic damage 40% attack speed 30 MR Unique: auto attacks increase your MR by 5 for 5 seconds stacking up to 4 times
Something might be a little off but this is the general idea for the stats.
42 on hit magic damage: pop culture references aside, being able to effectively bypass part of an enemy stacking armor made this item a fairly good pickup against many tanker enemies and the MR made it good against mages you would often run into top lane like Vlad. Getting it against someone like Malphite who is rushing a frozen heart or omen is sometimes the best option open to primarily physical damage auto attacking reliant champs. Given the price range of this compared to the higher price of frozen heart back in the day it was a good power spike often was completed around 10 to 12 minutes, it was not bought every game but it had clear reasons to be bought some games.
And for those who are saying "why not build hexdrinker" hexdrinker is less MR and 20 AD with a fairly short lived shied. It does not feel like any kind of power spike unless you are only trying to survive Annie or Syndra's ult.
The 40% attack speed and flat MR shouldn't need much explaining. They are reliable and provided a decent amount of good combat stats.
And assuming memory servers right you would get the MR stacks from auto attacking anything meaning it was not limited to being stacked only while in a trade with an enemy champ.
It was often called a cheap, highly cost efficient, not so slot efficient item. You would get it for a early to mid game advantage and it had trade offs in extended games.
If revamped it could build into a revamped madred's bloodrazor if Riot wanted it to have a late game build path and have a second build path in a revamped malady which could maintain the current MR shred. ANd yes any % helath damge would have the same unique passive name in BLOODRAZOR to prevent stacking.
It could also be what it was know for back in season 2 as the situationally good option early to mid game for on hit building champs but not the best option for extended games.
But in it's current state the stats and the cost are not even worth considering outside of about 7 champs. Kayle buys it in about 20% of games and Kog buys it in about 30% of games. Even it's long standing poster child Warwick does not buy it much anymore after his rework.
fun tip. you heal from the on hit with gunblade.
in there and give it 300 hp and maybe 100 - 150% hp5
) as the core item that these various defensive onhit items build out of would smooth the build path while unifying them like Zeal does for its items.
) that gets at least one upgrade for late game. If the MR stealing were included in one of those upgrades, then it should probably become %resist stealing rather than flat. Or if we wanted to get really fancy, a flat value or a percentile value, whichever is greater. Something like-
