@Meddler & @Reav3 - Suggestions To Make Current Karma Better

Karma is a very confusing champion. There are parts of her current kit that are amazing, but other parts of it that are just thematically not meeting the mark or isn't unique to her. I am not going to do much to her current kit but tweak the way a few things work on her. As much as I would love to see her shield bomb come back, Riot and the newer League of Legends community seem to be obsessed with her group shielding. What Riot did 4 years ago was a very big travesty for the Karma main community. They single handily took away everything from Karma and completely introduced a new champion, without any regard to what the community liked about her. We have a champion now that has been so lazily worked on, ignored, and quite frankly not cared about for 4 years. No on one the Riot Development team can be bothered to even communicate about her amongst themselves.

I am going to suggest some ideas that are not in the game currently or can make Karma better. Everyone has their own ideas about what would make Karma better and more interesting. Please feel free to post your ideas.

Passive: Casting two basic abilities followed by a Mantra ability will heal Karma for a said amount, based off of her AP. (Karma is actually gathering fire right now . . . . . as opposed to gathering nothing with her current passive.)

(Every battlemage has some sort of passive, mechanic on the champion or etc. that allows that champion to heal or shield themselves. Karma's current W+R should not have a heal at the expense of something that can provide her with better CC options and be used more. Her Mantra W is confusing and really doesn't fit as well as people think. The ability is also being abused a lot and there is a lot more than can do with it.)

Q - Remove the slow and allow Karma to be a champion that isn't so oppressive because of a CC passive on a bility. Karma scales really well with tanky, health items so it would be better to remove the slow on her Q that also has splash cc to nearby enemies. Karma would benefit very much from an item like Rylai or even Ice Born Gauntlet, but there really isn't a reason to build it when she has a slow on her Q. Keep the slow on Mantra Q, but I see no real reason to have a slow on her Q when she can build items like Rylai and Ice Born Gauntlet that offer her a little bit of tanky stats and more interesting gameplay. Karma utilizes auto attacks with her current passive and I like using Ice Born Gauntlet on her. Compared to other battlemages like Cass, Morgana, and Ryze . . . they don't utilize Ice Born Gauntlet like Karma would.

W - Her W is fine. Karma's W+R should provide a hard CC option that the rest of her kit really needs. Since her slow on her Q is removed, maybe having her Mantra W provide her more ways to really latch on to her opponents and keep up with them is better than a heal that is kind of toxic on her kit in my opinion. Every battlemage has at least one hard CC option. Morgana has her Q, Cass has her W, Ryze has his W. Karma has a W+R that heals her and really isn't utilized as much besides . . . . oh I need a quick heal and I Just press one button. All of her Mantra abilities should feel like they have a purpose and be used. Her W+R is not used as much as you think, compared to her Q and E.

Mantra W - When Karma casts the ability on an enemy champion she moves faster when running towards them. After a certain amount of time that enemy champion is rooted in place. If there is an enemy champion nearby the tether will reach out and latch on to one more champion and snare them for half of the amount.

E - Karma's E is fine. The problem I have with this ability is that her Mantra E exists in the game already as an item active with just a speed boost. The Mantra E is spamamble and is promoting a very bland and boring playstle that is not offering anything new to Karma or the game. True Karma mains, let's face the hard truth and realize that Riot is never going to bring back her shield bomb. We need to accept this and move on, but also try to do better for Karma than what she currently has. There are better ways to make her Mantra E feel more interactive, not spammable, offer something new to the game, and more. The ability should have a longer cooldown and force Karma to use it more strategically, than just sitting int he back and spamming one button key.

Mantra E - A change that I think would work very well with Karma is illustrated in a picture I found on Google. Have Karma create a force field around herself and allies, about maybe the size of a Bard ULT, and everything inside the force field is proteted for a specific amount of damage. Allies entering and leaving the force field are granted a temporary speed boost and enemies entering or leaving the force field are slowed for half of that amount. This new Mantra E will mean Karma has to think strategically about where she places her mass shielding because she will not be able to move until the duration of the ability is gone. If Karma needs to get into the brink of battle to shield her enemies then she should. If Karma wants to speed her team up to catch a foe, while also giving her team options to come to her for a neat shield . . . . that is better. I can see something like this really working well with her thematic and LCS. Shield bomb is gone guys. I would like Karma mains to move on at this point because Riot Games will not be bringing it back. We need to make her current kit more origional and intersting for Karma and the game.

R - Add her current passive to her R.

I welcome anyone to post their own ideas and providing their criticism.

As we all know, Riot isn't going to talk about Karma until she's relevant to their plans for the game e.g. an Ionian event or an Enchanter update. That annoys me, but I understand and accept that. However, I don't think we should give up on the things that made Karma who she was. When Karma finally gets her turn for a rework, I'd like to see the following things addressed:

**Passive: **While I don't have any great ideas for this, I think Karma should have a new passive that allows her to do something Karmic if certain conditions are met.

Soulflare (RQ): I still believe making RQ a ground targeted AoE is a good way to refine her gameplay to more of a Battlemage, as opposed to its current artillery cast type which always most effective at max range. This change would also allow for more flexible use of RQ. Just an idea.

Renewal (RW): Personally I believe the biggest mistake of her rework initially was not giving RW an ally interaction. At the time Riot didn't have the comprehensive class list it has now, but this ability could have been the perfect opportunity to show off what an Enchanter/Battlemage hybrid looks like. I'd like to see an ally function on Karma's RW, and perhaps reintroducing her tether clothesline mechanic in some way, and a better enemy function than an increased root (bonus damage like pre 5.10 would be better).

In regards to her heal, I believe flat values with a smaller missing hp component might be the way to go. This cements AP as her core stat as Riot intended, and makes tank Karma less of a thing.

Defiance (RE): it would be nice to see this ability's name make sense again. The shield bomb was Karma's most iconic spell and is something I believe needs to return, but in a better way. It's been pointed out by a few players on here that adding a delay to the damage portion of the shield bomb would add counterplay to the ability, meaning more power can go into the spell than it had when it was reworked (in 3.5).

Could a version of this ability work where a portion of the shield/haste is applied to only the target for 1.5s, then explodes into its full AoE values and damage? The added counterplay and loss of instant reliability should mean the spell can have better damage than it had after her rework, and stronger utility, right?

Tbh I wouldn't care if they made her shield bomb's damage apply like Vladimir's E, if it meant the spell could be more impactful. I just want it back :(.

Mantra (R): Move her gathering fire passive here.

For Karma to really deliver on her Enlightened One trope, her skills should require more planning and have more options than she currently does. Being a good Karma player should require wisdom, and should reward players for reading and responding to different situations correctly. Karma shouldn't be so simple, her Mantras shouldn't be as obvious as they currently are, she desperately needs depth.

Hey Hiemal, I think they should make her R+W a flat heal (seeing as how it turned out very well for Swain) with it doing double damage (basically her old R+W before patch 5.10 with a new heal), but remove the R+W snare bonus. No one uses the R+W for the snare, its super rare when Mid and Support (and top) to use R+W for the snare and not the heal.

The R+E can be like a Galio ult, the damage it adsorbs overloads the shield, when it ends or the shield is broken/destroyed, it detonates and deals AP AoE damage to near by enemies. This promotes/encourages your team to go in a fight. My other idea is to have R+E give the shielded players an aura that reflects damage. Just remove the buff from patch 6.6 while also allowing R+E to shield minions (not for regular E).

Personally I think these are the changes that should have gone through for patch 5.10. Its a good overall buff to Mid, Support and possibly Jungle (Since I'm not really complaining about the Jungle being able to get hit by W, but its an easy target to reduce her power in her kit without much of a fuse for me). Sure it hits Tank Karma kinda hard, but Karma was never really meant for the Tank role (this coming from someone who enjoys playing her as a tank).
