Seriously, is yi ever gonna get a nerf?

The dudes just too strong, he only auto attacks, becomes invulnerable, heals and in that time, is basically taking no damage in early game. This dude has been abused too long, by people just, in general, to get an easy win because they know he's broken. Honestly, Im so sick and tired of yi, he does so much damage, when he has basic abilities. Yeah, yeah, cc counters yi, whatever sure it counters him, but if a yi buys qss or even if it doesn't land what else is there? in the early game, the items that counter him cost so much, thorn mail cost 2900, omen cost the same, what is there to counter him with when he does a shit ton of damage already, without actual damage items. Yi can have one jungle item, which has no damage yet, and slice you up into dust. Dude's being abused by so many people, its insane, starting to think there's no counter to this guy.

I hate when someone says cc counters them, cc counters everyone...also so many times i tried to cc him and he jumps at me at the same time and evades it, hes broken in every aspect of the game. Countless times won game, my team just doesnt want to group for a final push, all lanes won, and yi somehow gets feed and wins for the opposite team...one champ SHOULD NOT be able to solo carry the game, end of period...needs a complete rework or a hard nerf (to be able to be targeted while he slashes?)

I play quite a bit of Yi from time to time. His biggest counter is not getting fed. Every single time I see a Yi pop off and every time I've popped off on him, it's because my asshole team/enemy team feeds him 8 kills before 15 minutes. Stop feeding him. Yi completely relies on being able to kill you before you can mount a proper counter attack and he only does that kind of damage when he plays vs feeders.

No Yi player would ever consider building a QSS before their core items which would either be a Rageblade or an IE/Shiv depending on which sort of Yi you're fighting. You usually get these items at 12-15 mins if your ganks are successful and your farming uninterrupted, which means you're already failing to play properly against Yi.

Also, whatever sort of tank you play, when you're looking to buy Thornmail just buy the Bramble Vest and sit on it while you buy other items. Bramble Vest does it's job well enough on its own and you'd benefit more from finishing a DMP/Randuins/whatever first.

But yeah,the ultimate counter play is the fact that the majority of Yi players won't build any defense stats so hes walking around with less than 2000hp. Dump everything on top of him if he engages with alpha or wait it out while kiting and layering your cc. Picking counter pick champs works well too, or getting an early Zhonya's. Deny him a Q reset and he's toast until he can stack up attack speed items.

For Yi to get nerfed he would either need to

Drop below 7% ban rate and raise to 54% win rate.

Raise to 52% win rate and raise to 35% ban rate.

The counter to Yi: get good.

He is a typical zero-utility feast or famine champ that is extremely easy to shut down and render irrelevant for the rest of the game, and underpowered anywhere except low ELO, where people have no idea how to prevent a snowball.

Until he gets a rework, it wont get any better than that. He is held in a perpetually useless state to prevent him seeing pro play.

Yi isn't gonna get nerfed because he doesn't really meet the requirements Riot as set up to be nerfed. He has less than a 54% win rate in non professional games while Pro players rarely touch him so Riot sees him in a relatively good spot atm

He presses R and gets a bajillion gold in stats, he's nothing without his ultimate, learn it's cooldown, invade him. Run away when he presses R. If he uses Q to gapclose->cc him, get your support to press buttons, most support abilities will help

You know what else counters him?

Not having your wave in a way that any jungler in the game can walk up and punish you. Be better than your laner and suddenly Yi is far less an issue, because he just piggybacks on your incompetence; he doesn't make you play anything different, you know the straightforward way he gets kills.

Yi remains a byproduct of the meta where you can play scaling champions and be ok in practically every role because almost nobody can bully anyone hard enough to take you out, and those that can are, spoiler, S tier because they're basically the only ones left that still can. If you can lane and scale, why not just go for it. This is controversial to junglers because they can be put behind to being irrelevant very easily, but that Yi is a good fighter means invading him is difficult without proper tracking.

Yi thrives right now because the meta is slow. There's a lot of problems to go at other than Yi that would keep him back in line, while making things better.

Only way to counter Yi is to leave Lol and switch to dota. First i get lv 1000+ on my first ranked match, then there is yi, teemo and vayne in their team. I straight up quit the game and reinstalled dota. Even if there's a broke hero in dota there's still a counter for it if you survive long enough to make good items.
