Whats the point of ranked if I get people below my actual rank?

so I got a bronze 1 and silver 3 in my game, im silver 1. Why on earth did I get matched with a bronze 1 and silver 3, when half the enemy team is the actual rank I play at which is silver 1, and then gold 4 to gold 3. This makes no sense, I just lost lp because Im not playing with people in my actual rank, adc fed, mid lane kept going in and being toxic.
