About Ekko (specifically his ult)

So just faced ekko in lane for the second time. I don't really mind his kit or his numbers. If you dodge the Q and W he really can't do much to you. Heck his ult is pretty avoidable too damage wise. But about his ult... Why is the heal component on it? I feel like if I tower dive an ekko and get him down low enough to where ignite will kill him, his ult should not allow him to heal off the damage and say "outplayed". His ult should be an escape or a burst not a heal.

Totally agree. If his ult is up you really cant tower dive him and kamikaze ..9/10 times a smart ekko will watch you die.

Pretty much. It sucks its almost impossible to kill him in lane which means you either go even or get behind. Also as i learned Ekko ult>Zed ult item 3070 item 3070

Zed ult is far better, also Zed is severely overpower ; same with others -- Ekko is honestly pretty balanced, and easily balance able unlike yasuo kalista zed leblanc katarina

For the post I meant ekkos ult counters zeds ult. But I would still argue Ekkos ult is still better just not by much. Going to have to disagree with you.

Basically because it's his theme- think of his teaser. It does seem strange that its often used as a tower dive tool. I don't think it's necassarily bad or op though. There are more than a handful of champions that you know can dive you if they have a decent HP advantage in lane: Pantheon and Fizz dive quite a bit harder and arguably safer. Then there is Karthus who makes sure your entire team cant stay in lane if they get low.

That falls under the escape usage of his ult which I am completely ok with. If you re read my post you will see I am annoyed with when it is used underneath HIS own tower not mine. The heal component is what I have qualms with not the other aspects

This is what I have been saying. WTF with that heal. The burst, and escape usage is good enough. Does he really need to get 30% of his life back as well?

I am fine with the moving to the clone part, but it should have EITHER a heal OR damage, but not both.

Oh my God same here bro. I get pissesd when I can't kill a champion in lane and dive him at level 6 even though I know clearly how his kit works. Fuck this, I want to get kills every mid lane every game. If I don't get kills then the game is simply not fun. How dare Riot make a champion that is very difficult to kill?

But the purpose of his ult is not to heal. Its kinda like why Zed got nerfed. His ult was to kill not perform some juke function. So they nerfed the unintended consequence of his ult. Likewise Ekkos ult not supposed to heal. Its supposed to be used for outplays whether that is escape or damage. Healing is just tacked on there for idk what reason. It really doesn't need to be there.

No, the purpose of his ult is to GO BACK IN TIME and fix all the mistakes he made. Which was clearly made in the video. He is supposed to do the healing because that's the concept in the video behind his ult. And riot intended to make it that way.

If you're going to base things off videos Nautilus is supposed to be ten times bigger, his E is supposed to level out the rift, and his Q instakills anyone. Also the video clearly shows him taking damage. So the heal can still be taken off without making it unfaithful to the video. But champs do not follow their videos to the letter and it is an extremely poor argument that you think they should.

Painforged1 votes

That's not my whole argument, my whole argument is that Riot intended to make it that way. Why would they remove a heal if they intended it that way?

Swollwonder1 votes

Why do they nerf champions at all if they intended it that way? Because it is deemed unfair.

Painforged1 votes

How is it unfair if his ult so predictable and you can still wreck him even after he heals?

the shield is more anoying. its makes him really tanky in combination with the ult despite looking deceptively squishy.

and its really easy for him to sidestep into the gigantic area of the w to profit from the shield. imo he should only get it, if both him and his enemy are inside the area of the w. not just him.

His shield really doesn't last that long. I'm fine with it personally.

its gigantic. no. im not saying remove it, but restrict it more. its too easy to grab for shielding him for a freaking .8 ap ratio and 330 base.

while the shield alone doesnt last long, in combination with the heal on his ult, its basically a crapton of extra hp hes getting out of his kit.

that would be all he needs imo. it wouldnt hit him that hard.

He is getting the mana cost increased on it but Im not sure if there are other nerfs to it. Ekko is a "sustained assassin" (such a weird term) in the sense that if you fight him longer he gets stronger (his w finally pops his ult catches up to where you guys are fighting etc). So if something is bugging you about ekko 95% of the time you can negate it by poking or burst all in. Otherwise yes he gets stronger but thats what he is supposed to do.

the heal is there kind of like a sudo reset, it makes the most sense for the spell
