Playing against a Taric and Sona right now.

I have resisted the urge to afk, and it's a fucking strong one. I hate Riot sometimes when stuff like this happens and they don't touch it.

edit We won but it was so insanely frustrating to lane against I actually do not want to play league anymore tonight. I think I might have to thank Riot for making me go and do something else.

It's not frustrating to lane against at all.

It's frustrating mid - late game.

Pick a lane that can hard blow them up.

Blitzcrank Brand Nautilus Thresh Zyra Velkoz Lux Leona

Pair them with ADC's who can either bend them over in lane or outscale them

Draven Jhin Jinx Kaisa MissFortune Lucian Vayne

Vayne Jinx and Kai'Sa in particular will hard outscale a Sona Taric.

This. You psyched yourself out. Don't forget Sivir. I did Sona/Taric with a friend, dodging Velkoz/Sivir all day was a headache. Made me decide I don't like bottom and I ran back to my jungle. Granted, I did well, and dodged most stuff, but I don't want to play a game where 90% of the time I'm just trying to dodge crap.

Brand Zyra Velkoz Lux and every one of those adcs are frustrating to lane against Yes including vayne maybe not for other adcs by as a support yes. Still wish that Poppy's W didnt have a limit for when it is up considering it has a really long down time. so it could actually be viable to counter Vayne and riven.

What people need to remember about Taric Sona is as follows

Taric's healing and shielding both scale with spell rank and a % of his maximum health so it isn't very strong until he starts picking up items.

Sona's healing is extremely weak and mana expensive early.

Both of these champions have little to no agency until they start getting items.

Isn't it funny that "supports" were originally champions that were supposed to do well without items, and now Sona's early game has been gutted so hard that, in order to make her not trash, she has some of the most powerful AP scaling in the game on her Q?

Sona pays for her stupidly r****ded late game with her gutted early.

Fair trade imo

Welcome to the top lane experience! Have an unpleasent stay!

As soon as you ask for nerfs: "but it isnt OP hurr durr" "the lane is for everyone hurr durr" "just learn to play against it hurr durr" "Conventional picks are still fine hurr durr"

And my personal fucking favorite

"Just counterpick them hurr durr"

How do you propose fixing it? It's easily countered if people are just willing to counter it,, but instead the selfishly play champ "x" because they want to play champ "x"...

Afaik they have to be counter picked, it's even something pros have a hard time dealing with led alone lower level play. I rushed an executioners but it's not solving the issue. If I could point towards anything it would be nerfing support items to stop their abuse.

Also maybe nerfing their shields and just let them keep the heal so it can be countered.

This is exactly what he was pointing out... The only options you have is either banning the strategy or counter picking them. If this is all you can do against this lane, then there seems to be a problem.

About how to fix it: As far as I know, the strat is running double gold items in bot lane item 3302 item 3303 They already implemented stuff like that gold just gets generated when an ally is nearby. How about adding onto it: If 2 champions in this area are having a gold gen item, then these items are inhibiting each other.

So three of the fundamental strategies in league... Counter Picking, Proper banning, and denying gold shouldn't apply here? Your answer is to nerf instead of getting better/smarter? Man, real life has some lessons to teach you....

If your answer is to further nerf support items and dumpster champions, then you should just stop.

Two examples of lane duos that wreck this are... Jhin Velkoz and Caitlyn Lux

They prevent Sona from proc-ing klepto and spell thief's. Remove her gold and you remove their power. You could also just ban Taric as he's the lynch pin to making this work.

2 weak supports that need to be really close to work?

I disagree with either of those champions being "weak"

I'd say Taric is Strong and Sona's borderline overpowered right now.

Both these champions have sub-optimal earlygames

Use that knowledge to your advantage
