When Taliyah finally gets needed buffs.

Astôlfo··26 votes·1,644 views

Threaded Volley (Q) Cooldown decreased to 8/7/6/5/4 from 10/8.5/7/6.5/4 Worked Ground duration reduced to 120 seconds from 140 seconds. Casting Q on Worked Ground now refunds 50% cooldown.

Thank you Riot. Personally, I'd prefer if the lockout/old W casting method had been used to balance the higher E damages as well, but this is good too. After getting almost every part of her kit nerfed continuously for patches upon patches without end and falling into the gutter, it's really appreciated to see you guys give one of my much-loved champions back a little power.

EDIT: lel downvotes are already streaming in

"finally"

It's been like 2 patches

Astôlfo2 votes

You mean, more like 7.

Keti3 votes

yeah, since she was released

Astôlfo1 votes

Since she got anything good, you mean.

Keti4 votes

Just a few patches ago she was basically god. She got nerfed for good reason.

Only becuse of Riot's uneeded change on her W.

Her mains never complained about her W, it was casual reddit players because ''hurr durr cumbu mage''.

NightmareAmazoX2 votes

''Hurr durr cumbu mage'' I spit my tea...thanks XD

Astôlfo1 votes

She also got buffs and changes for no valid reason which was what broke her. And then they proceeded to continuously fuck her up over 7 patches.

9, since release actually. 6.10 was when Taliyah came out, and we're onto 6.19 here soon. So I guess she was nerfed to oblivion 2 patches after release?

Looking through notes for her... she has had nerfs in 6.14, 6.15 and 6.18 along the way following two buffs in patches and a hotfix buff.

Are we actually "on" 6.19 yet?

Meep Man1 votes

Yes we are

Warlord Zudane1 votes

As of right now: yes. When you asked: no. But that's why I put "onto 6.19 here soon".

Bob the Toastr1 votes

I know, I was just being facetious.

Here i am. a Zed player waiting since 9 months for a round of buffs maybe....

Duskblade was a indirect buff, If they revert his Q nerf or W CD. That'd be cool.

Good News Everyone Taliyah is getting buffed Eh,wha?

inplane2 votes

It would be nice if they buffed E and W instead of always trying to tweak Q, but I guess that's a nice touch. Nothing ground breaking and Worked Ground can finally give something other than a movespeed buff.

Astôlfo1 votes

Yeah, that would've been better. But hey, I'll still take this. It's something at least. :P

It's a start. Riot Zenon is still trying to find time to get a coder to fix W. E is still in the process of being fixed because it's going to need more than puny damage to make up for the lack of Lockout.

Astôlfo1 votes

Yeah. I really think the lockout shouldn't have been removed. Yes, it makes her feel clunky to learn at first, but it justifies the large damage on her E which secures her role as a disruptor/zoning pressure mage like she was originally intended to be and it gets a lot better and feels better after learning and practicing. Landing it also takes skill/learning to predict the enemy champion's movements because the E into W makes it clearly broadcasted.

Not sure what "Finally" is for. What was it like... 2 patches ago?

Astôlfo1 votes

They changed her kit which broke her around 7 patches ago and caused her to get nerfed into the ground like every other patch as a result.

i dont recall the nerf to her q being 7 patches ago. if youre referring to the mechanics change on her w. that didnt break her, and she was good enough to be a competitive pick afterwards.

Her W lockout was the entire reason her insane E-W damage was balanced.

By changing it to vectorcast and removing the lockout, they added "burst mage" to her "disruptor/zoning pressure mage" playstyle. As a result, her E damage got neutered.

Then they added Q bonus damage which added "waveclear/splitpush mage" to the other 2. And not so surprisingly, she did well in pro hands. So they nerfed her even harder.

still, since that change people have been getting better on her, and she became an insanely strong champion in the right hands.

the nerfs that follwed were 1 minor nerf to her ult cooldown which barely did anything to her winrate and a major nerf just last patch. her winrate really only dropped with the 6.18 patch.

so if the buffs go through, she has been in a bad spot for 2 entire patch cycles.

meanwhile im sitting here waiting for a couple of simple compensation buffs to garen and nasus base stats since the mage update that broke them. they dont even need buffs and power shifts as complicated as talyiah. one would think it would be incredibly easy to do. but they still didnt get around to it for month.

i literally cant play ranked this season anymore, because the champions im playing have not been properly compensated for all the global shit riot has been doing with their items and the game.

Yes, people would obviously be getting better on her, because pretty much her only skill-intensive combo that took knowledge and practice to learn how to do/predict the enemy's movements to land such a clearly broadcasted combo got changed into a braindead easy version. Why? Because people who didn't want to bother learning complained about her old W method/lockout feeling clunky at first instead of just learning how to play her.

"finally"

not saying she shouldnt get buffs, but there are champs who wait entire month and seasons to get buffs. talyiah was nerfed for like 2 patches.

Mistress Shyvana1 votes

Watch they get taken off the PBE in like 2 days

Astôlfo1 votes

It probably will. But here's to hoping it won't. >_>

Not sure if these are the best way to buff Taliyah but they're still quite welcome. Specifically the q cd on worked ground reduction as you shouldn't be using that in a fight, It might be a better idea to buff the damage to creeps on the worked ground q since adding to waveclear and helping with last hitting is its main purpose. I agree that they should revert the 6.14 changes.

Well that's cool....

I'd still stick to Jax : ^)

They just wanted her out of worlds. The good news is they seem to be at least partially keeping to their promise of rebuffing champions that were nerfed for that reason.

Sèx Craved Eve1 votes

She was the new Azir in competitive. Honestly surprised to see her get buffs already.

Dengeden1 votes

Any other champion and you'd call it an overbuff.

I find it funny they say the refund is new when i remember she used to already have that feature before they took it away.

R3D Bandit1 votes

It refunded 50 percent of the mana cost. You needed the full cost to cast the spell.
