So you're an AP mid. You're facing a Malzahar. So you MUST buy a QSS because it negates his ult. But it only builds into an AD item! Why? VS an Annie, Veigar, same idea. When you are AP facing hard CC QSS is very nice but it is a must sell late game; probably the only non Doran's item that must be sold off for late game. So many new items were introduced lately, how hard was it to just have this build into a new AP item?

It Is I Emoto1 votesEh, I'd rather to pick an assasin who benifits alot of the item, like akali or kassadin (he mostly auto attacks). sadly people dont recognize it as a counter against most champs.. About zhonyas tho: cant be used if you are cc'd Qss: can be used while you have any cc and surpression works too Qss is stronger, yet a ad only item like zhonyas only for ap is.
FarRockBF1 votesYour arguments are all invalid. Zhonyas is a terrible example because ADs CAN NEVER BENEFIT FROM IT. APs CAN use QSS is just doesn't build into anything, something League has never done with an item before.
I just want an explanation why. If they don't want APs to build it just give it as an active to an AD item at final build.
