Edit: I have a few crit runes added so I can get a little bit of a present now and then when I play Soraka. Nothing beats getting a crit on her starcall :D
Joking aside
Karthus does crit for 200% on his Q when he hits a single target. If you don't believe me go check the end game stats on highest crit.
Same with Aniva's E on chilled targets.
Unsure if IE buffs these stats though.
Also... it's more likely we'd see more nid spear spam or something like Cho'Gath
I feel like if magical crit was a thing, it would only be accessible to certain abilities like azir's soldiers or tf's wild cards, but definetly not nidalee's q or any abilities that can already nuke your HP with one hit.
The funny part is that 50% of the community want to remove AD crits from the game. Why would AP crit be any more similar??

AP used to have an item that would let spells crit for a small bonus of true damage, but that was removed for very obvious reasons and i can't say I'd like to see it again.

You must be off your meds. Imagine someone like Katarina, Diana, or god forbid Akali with AP crit. They would literally insta-gib an entire team.
Sure, would make ap assassins that aren't leb/ahri/kat be able to be viable. I remember playing some ap mid/top shaco was pretty good back in the day. Or some AP janna. Maxing that Q/W for instant wave clear or good harass with E buff doing some decent trading if you dodged skill shots. Sadly both of these champs i just mentioned have had their AP side gutted to hell directly or indirectly.
