i know that due to his lack of safety in a meta where anyone that isnt safe gets blown up in an instant (exaggeration) and a big lack of mobility he isnt picked much its just that he is an amazing champion and his design is really cool i just wish he was more meta in my opinion (yes i know the mage patch is coming soon and i hope he gets some love in the patch)

is imo one of the best mid laners in the game right now. Strong wave clear. Safe pick if you master his gameplay. Can build tanky items will still being relevant (

The big thing about Vel'koz is he relies heavily on 1) Being good at skillshots and combos 2) Knowing how to position yourself in land and teamfights 3) Knowing when you have kill potential (He has kill potential spikes at lvl 2/4/6/).
I'm glad he isn't FoTM or he'd likely get some big nerfs (probably on his W).

His true damage passive should make it so he doesn't suffer as much from the Maw shield.
