Why exactly in flex do I have to play against Plats + diamonds while in Silver 1 in flex?

Theorchero··1 votes·1,847 views

I mean yeah my Solo mmr is really high, and before the season I had Plat 2ish mmr but still.

It's fucking silver in flex. Plats are being matched with solo queue silver players, and for the first 20 games that's how it went up until I started playing against mostly golds and low plat. Alright, that's kinda fair because I'm getting 25 lp per win and losing like 14. But now I'm getting 1-2 diamonds per game (2 on enemy team, 1 on mine usually) and my gains are like 28 lp.

Am I going to start skipping divisions soon? Because if not, it's kinda bullshit that I have to play against people 2 tiers higher than I'll receive rewards for. Though I don't think I'll climb past G5 on flex and just focus my climb in yolo queue.

because flex isn't there so you can prance around like a little fucking silver fairy. You aim for the top in the most brutally fair game mode in this game or you get the hell out and go back to playing in the yoloqueue kiddy pool with the other children.

Wait wait wait..

So the queue that lets you queue into premades of 3 and 5 and get carried isn't the kiddie pool?

no, the kiddie pool is in yoloqueue where you get to blame your team's failures on the randoms you couldn't have practiced with and act like its everyone elses fault you've been such a failure.

Meanwhile in flex queue you are responsible for your teammates and who you play with. You have complete control and are not at any real disadvantage even if you are a silver player up against master tier players. Your champ and thiers are all capable of the same things they've always been...

Yoloqueue = "I'm good but everyone else is holding me back wahhhhh"

Flex queue = "I have no excuse, I chose my teammates and we had the chance to practice but we weren't prepared for this match for whatever reason and we have nobody to blame but ourselves for not being good enough unless the other team cheated somehow. "

Lmao so you legit think that the queue in which your individual skill matters least is the harder one? That's totally why competitive integrity didn't go out of the window with the release of dynamic queue, right?

Also, the problems you're indicating is one of attitude. Kind of like your attitude on the forums, acting like a snobby brat with zero provocation. Swallow the venom you're spouting and I hope you choke on it.

What are you implying? One doesn't disprove the other.

The more demanding the system the more people will get desperate and try to cheat the system. But if I have a real team and trained my scrublord to compete with the best and you are just a dirty booster who doesn't care about going any further then your team will get shit on and mine will advance beyond any point where mere boosters can reach. Competitive integrity did not decline because of dynamic queue, it declined because the more fair system did not provide kiddie wheels for people like you who don't play this game seriously enough. That boosted animal is being carried by someone who plays this game to make money and friends. He had enough drive and skill to walk all over you like a piece of trash. You didn't lose because he was a smurf or whatever, you didn't lose because he was plat, diamond, or challenger or whatever.

You lost because you were the weaker player in flex queue.. BOTTOM LINE, NO EXCUSES!

There is no matter of attitude. There is RNG in Yoloqueue, every damn game. There is little to no luck factor to realistically have to face in flex queue, hence the name flex queue. You are either strong or you are trash.

Lift or die, end of story.

Remember solo/duo MMR and flex mmr are different. Lots of people who are plat+ MMR in solo/duo still have silver-ish MMR in flex since the queue is so new, so playing against those people with shiny solo/duo ranks doesn't mean you're playing at their level, just that you both have comparable flex MMRs.

If you're gaining like 28+ LP for your wins, then certainly your mmr is higher than your flex rank would indicate, and you might be getting toward division skipping territory. However, you'd be skipping up to higher silver or low gold flex, not like plat-diamond flex, since that's the MMR that everyone is playing at.

In a few months, I expect peoples flex MMRs will catch up to their 'true' mmrs, so people plat in solo/duo will mostly be plat in flex too, but right now plats in flex are largely silver in flex, which makes for some spicy games.

As you climb up through flex, you'll get a mix of people your level who've similarly climbed, and people who simply started higher due to their solo/duo rank and are only starting their flex climbs. It'll all settle out eventually, but for now brace yourself.

Yeah but flex was supposed to be influenced by your soloq ranked mmr.

Yeah I know it'll all settle down eventually. It's just kind of silly though.

I went against a diamond 4 kha jg OTP a little while ago and he wrecked face.

Yeah I was playing with someone who had a challenger border earlier tonight (I ended season 6 as plat 3). Spicy.

Unlike preseason, it does seem to be the same (former solo) rank distribution on either side though, so it doesn't feel unfair despite the fact that my rank after placements will probably be gold or something. Granted, I'm 3-0 in my flex placements so far, so I might be biased. Going toe to toe against (and alongside) shiny people is good for morale though, and serves as a nice reminder that they're not unbeatable gods on a totally different level to myself.

Dynamic queue is a joke anyway

Im telling you right now this is a serious problem. I have been playing solo for a couple days now and im bronze 2 getting matched up with high golds. This is across the board and it is not fair at all. This is crazy.

I don't think I've ever been higher than gold 3, why do I fight a parade of plats, diamonds, and the rare master in normals? Because their MMR in normals sucks.

But I prefer normals, and it makes me better, so I don't care.

I know the feeling. Got matched on a B5 game.... obviously that game was not even close to be fun.
