@Ricklessabandon : While you're working on Soraka, can you add a bonus-HP ratio to her heal? :)

So, this is half a joke, but I always wondered about her heal costing %MaxHP but not scaling with its price.

When you build bonus HP, the "cost" of the heal goes up, but the effect doesn't change, so I always feel a little punished for building HP, as if Soraka was meant to build a lot of HPRegen but no flat HP. And yet, various core support items (Sightstone, Aegis) provide flat HPs.

So, joke aside, I'm really curious about why this is not the case, why the increase in price is not compensated by an increase in effect. I'm not saying it need to be, I'd just like to understand why. :)

Thank you.

Ninja edit: and maybe even Total HP, not bonus. After all, the price in HPs does increase when you level up and gain additional base HPs.

you were never supposed to build hp on Soraka, that's the entire point

Well, even with only Sighstone and Aegis, you already have 350 bonus HPs. If you upgrade for Ruby Sightstone and Locket Solari, it's 900 bonus HP.

And other squishy supports are not supposed to build tons of HPs, but they are not discouraged from building HPs either. This whole situation seems odd. I'm convinced there is a good reason behind it, but I'd like to know it.

Maybe the self-heal should scale with Health instead? Because you can counter that with Grivous Wounds.

It's intended, and I'm glad this is the way it is. When she was being reworked, she was explicitly designed like this in order to punish building her tanky since "kill the healer" gameplay was what she was being based on and thus has/had very powerful healing, and having to focus a tanky healer is a stupid idea (tanky healers are bad design in general really).

His healing is pathetic compared to Soraka's, which is why he's k (in terms of healing potential). It's also why his healing is largely unsatisfying though.
