Ranked Item Builds

Something I see a lot of people doing is looking at and judging items in ranked that are above their tier.

Something Phreak said in one of his recent patch notes was something along the lines of, "People make the common mistake of going off of item success in higher ranked tiers than the one they are in. Players need to look at what is working in their elo in order to climb because item matchups won't fit against what your actual tier is doing."

It was something along these lines, and speaks a lot of truth. People in Bronze, Silver, and Gold need to stop looking at what's working in Plat and higher because you are not in Plat or higher. Just because certain items work for them does not mean it works for you. Their enemy team build matchups are going to be different and the difference in skill between you and them will cause your copycat build to fail.

If you want to get better and climb, focus on the enemy team that's directly in front of you, not the one 2 tiers above you. Otherwise you'll never reach the enemy teams 2 tiers above you because you'll keep falling on your face with builds that don't fit your current level of play and then wonder why you're stuck where you're at.

Bronze, Silver, and Gold are the only ranked tiers that can share builds and find success in doing so. Anything above that before you're there will never help you climb.
