Any suggestions on how to mechanically use Fiora and take advantage of her passive and abilities?

I started looking at item and build paths, but it's clear to me that since I can't seem to do well vs bots even in a 1v1 or 2v2 setting, I'm doing something wrong with her.

How important is it to trade with her passive, how far should I go to hit someone with her passive, and what are some tips and things to look out for when trying to find an opening to get into that position?

I've tried using Q to proc the vitals, this seems to work well. I also wait for a vital to appear at a convenient facing, sort of like waiting for Quinn's passive to mark the enemy champ. Activate E just before using Q, Q applies on-hit effects, and try to apply both AAs.

Q actually doesn't apply or consume either E auto buff. Not sure if it's a bug.

Either way, try to get both E procs and then disengage, wait for cds and passive, and repeat.

You can walk away from the enemy laner about a screenlength. This causes the vital to vanish and when you come back into range it will reappear somewhere else.

Also you can't be too close when you auto them for the vital, you have to be around max autoattack range or it won't work.

Her passive is most of her trading power in lane, i should be most of her aggression. Try to reach late game before trying to duel opponents as your passive should deal way more percentage in true damage. My suggestion is that you should try out Fiora jungle first.

ive laned against a karthus bot when i first tried her and ended up 20/0 realizing that it was pointless to practise on him, since he wouldnt even attempt to move when i danced around him to trigger the passive.

i dont know what youre doing that you arent able to beat bots. but maybe its because youre not timing riposte properly. i have seen people use the 20 second cooldown to attempt to poke at their opponent instead of saving it for something useful like dodge a damage ability or cc.

the only situation where using riposte like this is appropriate, is if you can use the skillshot to pop a mark and dont have to expect aggression in the next 20 seconds.

its also important to note, that you can easily hit and run with the q, since triggering her passive gives her bonus movement speed. so you dash in to pop a mark with q when its in a good spot and immediately run. just repeat a couple times before you attemp to all in.
