Right now you have a cascade of new players coming in at Silver 2 and getting matchmade with experienced players trying to climb out of silver. As the new players trickle down they are also dragging down decent experienced players who have done nothing to deserve this near literal heap of BS being dumped on them.

There is literally no way you could be silver last season and go 10/10 placements and gets placed bronze 5 unless you were premade with 3-4 players who were already in bronze 5 even then I doubt it would put someone that low.

If this is true then consider statically speaking those players are more likely to appear on the enemy team than your team (55.56% enemy vs 44.44% ally), so in the end it should help you more than it should hurt you.
Branagen1 votesThat is exactly what happened to me, I am not exaggerating in any way. Finished S3 last season, won all matches in placements, including 2 afks. I maintained a 60% winrate up until a few weeks ago. I was placed Bronze 5 and even with 60% winrate I could not win promos for S1, which I hit consecutively 5 times in a row and I was trolled every one of those 10 matches.
As far as your statistics which everyone throws around, those are not relevant given the massive amount of players in the pool and the insane discrepancy in skill and understanding of the game.
Counting cards in blackjack is a good example. Playing one or two decks you start betting on a 16 count, the more decks you add, the higher the count needs to be to start betting and winning. The player pool in silver is the same thing, sure if I play 10 000 games with a 60% winrate I should climb.... Well unless I get trolled more during promos, in which I need a much higher winrate to overcome.
I tracked 50 games after those 5 consecutive S1 promos. In 50 games I had 5 without troll team mates, only 3 of the entire 50 did neither team have trolls, afks, or feeders. 3 gg's out of 50.
Talisid1 votes"unranked" players still have a hidden MMR that determines who they get matched against. Without proper matchmaking placement matches would be even more useless.
Unless you think somebody who is 9-0 on their placements should still be playing with Silver 5 players. That would be even worse.
Branagen1 votesAgain, I won all of my placements. All of them, and was Silver 1 last season, and I was placed bronze 5. I had over 10 people on my friends list who were all tanked to b4 or b5 in placements after ending season in silver.
