Malzahar-Lulu interaction

Gj with Malzahar 7.3 update. It is really accurate and interesting (slowdown).

But can you change Lulu's passive interaction with Voidlings also. Lulu is a hardcounter to Malzahar because she one-shots them. And with recent update it will be even more noticeable. Maybe attacking voidlings should work like attacking wards - without Pix proc.

P.S.: I don't play Malzahar support. Or Malzahar at all for that matter. Just find this interaction unintentional and overpowering.

lulu is lowkey godlike right now, people just don't realize yet, shes had nothing but buffs that have been building up for like 7 patches.

Agreed. Level 7 Lulu player here. I'm well aware of how truly powerful she is in the right hands. :P

This is untrue. She has had all of 3 buffs. One being the added atk speed on W, the bonus damage on pix + mana cost reduc on Q (which are completely whatever), and the spelltheif edge being proc'd by Pix. Her history for the last 3 seasons has been nothing but nerfs.

She is strong tho, but she is only truly at her most effective if her team can properly make use of her tools, which typically doesn't mesh with SoloQ, which likely explains why she isn't that popular.

I never said they were consecutive buffs, I said they were built up, none of her "nerfs" within that time frame have outweighed her buffs, which is why I mentioned it.

Idk man. the nerf to her Q was pretty fucking hard and widely considered an overall gutting in may cases to people.

Last few changes that I can remember: 1: Nerf to allycast W(runspeed duration) 2: Nerf to Q damage & buff to allycast W(attackspeed) 3: Buff to allycast W(even more attackspeed) And lastly the most recent manacostchange of Q and Pix-damage buff.

She's got major nerfs, and the buffs hardly outweigh them(imo she was better before all these 4 changes).

Imo Lulu is bad, in the current meta atleast. She can do descent against melee-supports like Braum/Alistar/Leona etc.. but atm everyone is playing OP mage-supports(Brand/Zyra/Malzahar)

nah, this nerf will most likely gut malz support, he is still useful as an R button but not nearly as lane dominant.

it doesn't, it makes your post useless, malz got gutted ingeneral not just as a support, so he won't be played there, so the interaction between him and lulu is invalid.

Even if Lulu is a "hard counter", a decent Malz player can just silence and ult her anyways, in which you really should be doing that in the first place. So it's not really hard hardcounter, people still need a brain to actually counter Malz.

Also to be frank, people should have to pick Lulu just to make Malz support not a nightmare to play against. If that makes sense...

Btw. Did you know that Lulu doesn't proc passive when attacking wards.

"just silence and ult her anyways"? First up, silence does not work because it is Lulu's passive that causes the one-shot. And "just ult" is impossible pre-6 and if the Lulu plays has some brains she will not come too close to Malzahar. In lategame, ulting the support in teamfight is not really that smart because there are way higher priority targets. Not only is Lulu a counter in the support roles to Malzahar, but also in the mid- and toplane.

the interaction is 100% intentional, same with Zyra plants, she's a natural counter to those champions because of it, I think it's fine since it gives you a reason to pick lulu over Karma or Janna for example

I think most people are missing your point.

I think I understand you though.

You're just looking for consistency.

If Lulu's passive doesn't proc multiple hits against wards, it shouldn't proc multiple hits against voidlings, and other targets in the game that have the same kind of hit counter.

I wonder if it procs on Nid's new traps or not.

Lol no, Malzahar-support shouldn't be a thing. Not that they should make it unviable, but they shouldn't balance him around it. Every champion got counters, Malzaharsup already hasn't got many so why remove the one he got lol

Because he always has been a mid-lane champion, people generally don't like it when their champion shifts roles. It's hard enough to keep a champion viable in the role he's intended for, no need to add more work. Riot should focus on keeping him a viable midlaner, whilst also making sure he's not OP elsewhere. If he's viable mid and can also be played as sup while not being OP; great! He's more than welcome, but Riot shouldn't worry about keeping his sup-role viable.

I also don't really get why the Lulu-interaction should get nerfed even if he was an intended support-pick.. I don't see them deleting Morgana's shield just because she counters Blitzcrank?

There is no such thing as mid/top/jg champion. I mean there are champions that are better suited for specific lanes but there always been things like Lulu mid or Brand support and there is nothing wrong with expanding game mechanics. But that is off topic.

Yes there is, lol. When they announce a new champion, they always say for what role hes intended. Plus there have been times where a champion became viable in a lane Riot didn't want him to be played, they'd for example nerfed Janna's Q damage to ruin her solo-lane.

And why does it matter whether the interaction was intended or not? It's not like Lulu is an OP pick atm, she's rather underpowered compared to the more popular picks current meta.
