Malz Support Counter: Tahm Kench

I'm wondering if others have considered Tahm to be a strong counter pick to Malzahar support.

My thought is if Tahm Kench were to just eat the first voidling, then spits it out into a wall it should die instantly, and not multiply.

The downside I see to this would be that this would put devour on cooldown and prevents him from being able to use it to pull his carry out of cc. Also, Malzahar could hit Tahm with his silence and prevent him from devouring the voidling.

Lulu's better. You can E malz to break his shield, e a minion and q him from way outside his range, or just aa him. Her aa's boops the voidlings to death with pix(still choose to believe that pix is a special type of void creature that feeds on chaos, and who better to follow than a yordle who is chaotic? also purple, THE COLOR OF THE VOID) and w or flash ult stops his ult. And e easily blocks his e's damage.

Tahm works too, but isn't the hard counter Lulu is.

Yes, it's fucking great. You put your E on a minion then tahm spits it at the other laners. It's so hilarious.

Yeah, of course that is the other way that he counters. I kinda felt like that was the more obvious reason though.

I'm referring more to how much he would be able to prevent Malz from stacking up a horde of voidlings, since that is how Malz gets free harass right now.

Why waste a very important spell when Lulu can just auto and kill them?

Though I say it's not an at all bad idea, but I'm not too sold on sacrificing one of the most ~~tilt-inducing~~ important spells that he has.

I'm not trying to take that away from you lol, I'm just saying that this could also work.

Yes, it is an important ability, but it is also being used to counter a very important ability. It may not be worth when there are other forms of cc (including Malz's ult) but if it can save you and your ADC from receiving a lot of free harassment, I think it could be worth it.

Personally I like Galio support against Malz. He shields, he has a nice movement speed buff for his laner, a nice ultie and ability power that scales off of MR. What's more to like? Plus, even before his rework (ie right now), he's actually performing decently at midlane. Yes, he is a bit mana hungry - but no worse than others, really.

(He was a support a few seasons back - heck even Lemon Nation gave him a few runs. Time to bring him back.)
