Taric Rework Concept

Role: Support, tank

Passive: Outrageous Armor: While out of combat, Taric gains 1% of his maximum HP as a shield every 3 seconds. This stacks until he has shields equal to half his max HP. If Taric enters a fight and then leaves the fight, he loses the shields instantly. While the shields are up, any damage inflicted to Taric that would deal more than 200 damage to him is reduced to 200 damage. This can only occur while Taric has a shield and only once every 2 seconds. He starts gaining shields after minions spawn While in battle, Taric loses 1% of his shields every second until he has none left.

Q: Insightful Emerald: "Emerald for Insight" Taric gives target ally a shield equal to 2 / 4 / 6 / 8 / 10% of Taric's max HP. The target as well as Taric are then healed by half that amount. The shield lasts 4 seconds and reduces any attack that would deal more than 100 damage to 100 damage once during the duration that it is up. The damage reducing effect will not apply if cast on himself.

This ability is meant to be a better version of what Taric's Q currently is. Since I'm making Taric a shield based champion now, his heal should also grant a small shield.

W: Divine Sapphire: "Sapphire for Divinity" Passive: Taric emits an aura that increases the armor of him and his allies by 5 / 8 / 11 / 14 / 17% of his current armor.

Active: Taric creates a bubble with a 400 unit radius around him. Allies inside the bubble take 10 / 13 / 15 / 18 / 20% reduced damage and are healed by 1% of Taric's maximum HP every 1.5 seconds.

I felt that Taric's current W was quite underwhelming. Why should a TANK give up armor to deal damage and lower armor? That doesn't make much sense to me because you're supposed to soak up damage. As such, I've reworked this ability so that it better fits Taric's shield based kit and still retaining his tankiness that his current W fails to give.

E: Vigorous Ruby: "Ruby for Vigour" Taric fires a flash of light to target champion, dealing 40 / 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 magic damage (+10% of Taric's max HP) and stunning them for 1 second. (+1 for every 150 armor with a max of 3 seconds) If Rough Sapphire's active is in effect, enemies in a 2 unit radius around the target are stunned for 1 second and take half the damage. Not instant, the projectile first has to hit the target. It travels a little slower than Mystic Shot.

Unlike most abilities, I wanted Taric to keep a point and click stun. Not many champions have it anymore because of Rito's nerf hammer. Tarics point and click stun is what makes him a great champion, but is dragged down by every other aspect of his kit.

R: Harmonious Opal: "Opal for Harmony" Taric focuses his outrageous energy onto a target ally or enemy champion, with the effects depending on who he casts it on. Ally: Removes all negative effects and heals them by 10 / 15 / 20% of their missing HP Enemy: Removes all positive buffs and disables them from being able to receive any positive buffs for 3 seconds. The target also gives Taric's allies 2% bonus attack damage, ability power, movement speed, armor and magic resist for 3 seconds, stacking up to 10 times and procing with each basic attack and ability that hits them.

Taric's current ultimate is great, I'll say that. It's nice to have a mini baron buff around you, but it's only useful if you have allies around you. Knowing Taric is a support and shouldn't ever be alone, but if he is caught out, I want him to have some survivability by being able to remove debuffs. Additionally, this new ability will allow Taric and his fuckbuddy lanebuddy to be more aggressive.

Changelog: Shield gain period increased to 3 seconds, from 1.5 seconds. Shield gain only stacks up to half his max HP, down from 100% of his max HP. He loses all shields if he leaves combat instantly. Damage reduction cap to 200 from 100. Taric loses shields while in battle.

Heal and shield reduced greatly.

Vigorous Ruby is no longer instant, and requires a little delay to hit the target Stun capped at 3 seconds

Passive: That's OP as fuck. You are literally combining Garen's Passive, Malphite's Passive, and Poppy's Passive all in one. A normal Taric build ends up with around 4k hp; this doubles it to 8k hp NOT counting the "over 100 damage" thing, which essential gives a 4k hp Taric 12k effective health. Q: Small shield? SMALL SHIELD? Taking in factor the 4k hp Taric build, you are giving your ADC 22.5% of your maximum health for 4 seconds; that's 900 health. W: Basically Maokai's ult. Combined with an Anti-Garen spin mechanic and a very weak Fiora ult. This is the only balanced spell I see in Taric's kit. E: I can't really argue much about this, but you are essentially taking Braum's Q and making it into a skill-shot, with the stun being instant. Also, what happens when a Taric builds 6 thornmails and has armor everything? You will literally get stunned for 8 seconds. And this is a point and click. Ouch. R: Literally every support has Taric's ult in item form when casting it on an ally. It's called item 3222 The offensive version is also not very useful (unless you can remove Nasus's stacks...) After seeing this rework, I can say that most of the other ideas on this board is more appealing. But hey, at least I can call this rework "OUTRAGEOUS"

Lol do you work for riot? You made every ability (including his passive) an ultimate.

This would make taric one of the most powerful champs in the game

I take a lot of my rework skills from Riot. But I am not working for them in any way. Also, they aren't exactly ultimate level, more of "unique" level

All of them are madly overpowered. Unique, yes, but absurdly strong. And the kit is overloaded which makes them all even stronger. Tons of powerful shields, good healing, powerful stunn, true damage that can be massively stacked by an ADC or dot. Interesting idea in general but no way in hell.

i like this idea alot. It would be cool to see a tanky shield, champ who has a slight heal, and a ult that could potentially make the enemys hyper carry a bitch

I like the direction, the passive is...unique. Ty for perserving his idenity with the rework
