Azir - The "Non-Mage"

I wonder why Riot has classed Azir as a mage because he relies on his abilities much less then a traditional mage. His soldiers mostly auto-attack anyway so it really is pointless to class him as a "mage". He is more a "specialist" because of his unique blend of attack speed and ap. I think that Azir should be the start to a new "specialist" class in LoL. He has just too much in his kit that traditional mages do not have. I find it sad because the champion is a great concept, a battlefield commander essentially.

However in practice, his continual presence in the LCS, despite of some serious nerfs actually highlights that the problem is with his kit being overloaded as opposed to his actual power. Champions that do 500 things can be extremely difficult to balance as Riot has discovered (LeeSin Nidalee Thresh Yasuo to name a few)

In truth, Azir needs to be reworked.

Overloaded? No The reason he gets played in pro scene is his absurd range. His overloaded kits solidify this one trait (his range).

And he is a Mage. He supposed to be the Mage that like cass has some adc qualities

Azir's soilders AA proc on hit spell effects because they are to be considered abilities too. Also he alone can't do anything and needs to relie on his Arise! for any single part of his kit.
