Hello guys, I really need a help about the rune page I would like to build.

I am planning to run a tanky rune page( to help till lv6 so I can farm safely and farm up) on champions such as tryndamere, top udyr, nasus etc. Sometimes I face with pantheon, quinn, vayne etc and I realize that I totally dont need ad-as page because if I cant survive somehow and get exp there is no way I win the lane afterwards. Hence, I cant all in with them or even have a fair trade. I did it on s3,s4(9x armor, 9x hp regen, 3x hp, 9x armor) and it was amazing usefull. I dont know exactly what changed in season6 about the runes so I really need your help.

9x marks armor 9x yellows hp 3x hp 9x blue?????

your thoughts?

nothing really changed about the runes just more people have them now because of the tier twos becoming practically free. damage is a lot more effective right now. glyphs would be magic resist since you're not always going to have an opponent who does physical damage

Agreed magic resist blues are incredibly effective, while armor blues do almost nothing.

i'd also consider doing scaling hp seals and flat quints of hp regen.

9X Scaling HP REDS 9X Scaling HP YELLOWS 9X Scaling MR BLUES 3X FLAT ARMOR OR Against AP Champion top 3 FLAT MR Q'S

I already rune 9x scaling hp marks and 9x scaling armor yellows on my tanky page which I run with sion, malphite etc. The one I am looking for is flat one so I could survive at the beginning of the game. If im gonna start using the page after6, there is no way I make a new one mate, ty anyway.

the question is, lets say I am facing against a good main pantheon player which means there is no way I kill him or survive the lane after I outscale the champion, is it smarter to run a page with armor or hp? I can make 21 armor, 70hp and 15 m resist page, or 150hp,8 armor, 15 m resist. Which one could work better? Generally...

Today players run Armor pen runes on their Top but mostly for their ADC's so having flat armor for top is risky in my opinion but it's a better choice than to have 0 armor and just flat hp.

Most top players will really just get these items first and rush for them item 3071 item 3142 for obvious reason but if you do have HP to back up your armor you should be fine, but even with someone with over 200+ armor but not really any HP you will get destroyed.

I would go with the 21 armor-20hp and 15MR over 150hp 8armor and 15 MR.

I like going with my scaling methods because I'm a passive player but if I go with flat runes and still play passive I'm not gaining anything from it, I'm just crippling myself. By level 6 or so I will instead the equalization of a item 1054 and at 12 and 18 without really having the item.

So you mean that flat deffense is nonsense if you are planning to play agressive you could go for ad-as-arpen instead. It actually make sense. Im also a passive player all I wanna do is focusing god damn farm without dying enemy jungler. So I wıll consider about it. For 4 years I thought that runes are only usefull at the early stage unless you play with scaled runes which I still think overrated because lets say a better early game from the early runes could give you better results in late game than late game runes.(Because there are some moments we are even with the enemy laner pre6, one simply luck win all the laning phase afterwards I lose hard , I am using m resist per lvl and sometimes I lost kennen, ryze, akali top just because I don't have flat mr and that makes me crazy I always tell to my self "Ohh yeah after this game im gonna buy flat mr because the only reason im 1-4 now is because xxx killed me with 50hp damn I wish I had flat mr!!!" ) This is I always thought and never thought about using them(ap per lvl-hp per lvl vlad was always broken). Im gonna think about it, thanks.

This is how I play my Top champions such as Chogath Gragas Jax Malphite Maokai Nasus Nautilus and others. It's my playstyle that got me out of Bronze and it's the way that I play. So 100% OPINION.

TOP TANKS ONLY

VERY PASSIVE- You only want to farm till lvl 6 before you do anything and even after you still want to only farm for the late game and scale up. 9X scale armor Reds// 9X scale HP Yellows// 9X scale MR blues// FLAT Armor

PASSIVE- You do trade early but not enough to make a difference as you still want to focus on cs but not afriad to fight it out from time to time 9X flat Armor Reds /// 9x Flat armor Yellows /// 9x Flat MR Blues// 3x Flat Armor Q's.

Att speed runes are good for split pushing and more so for a fight farm fight farm type of playstyle in lane.
Armor pen are good but honestly I like Flat AD more, it makes CS'ing easier also.

Flat Runes vs Scale Depends on your playstyle honestly, if you just want to farm and not push out the wave and just last hit I recommend Scale runes but if your the opposite yes go with flat.

For me when I play top and I'm using my Scaling runes I know I NEED to play passive and smart but by level 6+ I'm close to 2X stronger than my opponent if I keep up on CS and not die. Also helps if you do die early that you have the scale runes as a "back up safety net".
Think of it as like Goku or any other character from Anime or a super hero where at the start of the game your at your weakest but longer the fight goes(Lane phase) the stronger you become.

AD marks, Armour seals, MR glyphs, one AD quint and two armour quints. That's my go-to support/fighter rune page, gives 18 armour and 11 AD
