Did you start playing for a maybe less than usual reason?
I did. I was introduced to league while at tafe (a type of college for those in countries without tafe). The girl next to me had the client open and was weighing in on the tribunal. I asked her what she was doing and I was immediately intrigued. This game would give me people's petty drama and then ask for my opinion on it? That seemed right up my nosy bitch self's alley! But I couldn't access this feature without being level 30? Okay, guess I'd better actually play the game then. The grind was very slow, because I wasn't actually that interested in the game back then. I would play a couple of games every month or so, but then stop because every game felt alike to me. It was like, if I played one game then I'd played them all, so why keep playing? (I didn't actually get over this mentality until champion mastery was introduced, and then suddenly I had a reason to grind out more than a couple of games at a time) I eventually got to level 30, only to find that the tribunal had been discontinued while I was levelling. But at that point I didn't mind, because I'd gotten to a point where I was hooked. They got me hook line and sinker because well, this was way back in 2012, and I'm still playing!
Do you guys have any interesting stories about how you were introduced to the game?
