This is the ideal design philosophy to have. Easy to play, hard to master.

Wait this thread sounds sarcastic. So do you not want easy to learn, hard to master champions?

okay let me restate my statement. Champions like Annie, Garen, Master Yi, there isn't alot you can do with their kit. They are pretty straight forward and their were built to cater to people who are beginners at this game. But, champions like Ahri who have insane mobilty just from her ult should not have such safetys as the built in sustain in her passive. She get movement speed from her Q for a reason, to dodge skillshots and kite. That's is the entire premise of Ahri a super mobile champ who is hard to catch. Risk vs Reward

You can't just take away her passive, you have to give her something in return. She's already getting nerfs next patch too so go fuck yourself if your answer was 'just let her not have a passive'.

First off, Ahri's passive conflicts with her identity. She shouldn't need sustain if her premise is to DODGE a majority of the damage coming towards her and obviously a passive would be implemented to replace the current one. Also there are champs who have much worse passives out there, one of them being Lissandra and the other being Talon.

Her identity is a mythical fox who steals souls. If she didn't have spellvamp in her kit somewhere, THAT would be out of character for her.

I meant by her gameplay identity. Riots intended identity gameplay wise was a super high mobile kiting mage who was extremely slippery and hard to hit/catch.

Master Yi actually is an example of a champ with a low skill floor, high skill ceiling.

Exhibit a) Cow sep.

Low skill floor and high skill ceiling sounds ideal... are you mad? I'm not sure I understand the point.

I just hope Riot doesn't cotton on to how high the skill floor is for Nasus...

Higher outplay should mean harder to play.

Nobody can understand what you mean. It sounds to me like you mean "if a champion is capable of being very powerful, it should take high skill to achieve that power," which boils down to "high skill ceiling is high skill ceiling."

Or are you implying that the skill floor for Ahri and Zed is too high? Because you said "low" in the subject, and a low skill floor means a bad Ahri is quite bad.

Responded at the top.

i think he is getting at that the "high skill ceiling" is code word for "too much damage and utility all in one kit"

WHat I meant was, to play the champion proficiently a not alot of skill is needed but, if you are really gifted and good at the game you can still be rewarded with insane utility and damage.

that's pretty much everyone.
