Talon?

Ok aside from riot nerfing him really hard with silence removal, can he finally get a new passive? His passive is so bad right now. Its 10% extra damage for autoattacks if the enemy is slowed. That really is an insignificant passive . if they changed it to 10% extra damage across all abilities if the enemy is slowed will still be better and still hold balance. I would like a complete update to his passive, but 10% extra damage across all abilities if the enemy is slowed would be really good for him.

I agree.

Talon is so boring right now.... super generic jump on you and stab u playstyle. Used to be so much more fun with silence.

They wont change anything unless they're looking to rework him, and he's not in scope for that either. We're gonna have to wait for it.

It would be fine if they increased the duration of his slow.

right now it makes your auto-attack reset Q combo really inefficient because u lose the passive proc on the Q

I feel if the 99% slow's duration is too little.

of course its too little, its 0.25 seconds which is almost non-existent.

He needs atleast a full second imo.

I feel 1 second is too long though lol.

on a champion that used to have a 1 second silence?

um.... sounds completely reasonable to me

Yeah but, 1 second root basically is what your asking for on Talon as much I would enjoy that it would be broken lol.

You dont understand how slows work. Slows in Lol have a hard cap at 110 movespeed, and start getting diminishing returns at 220 movespeed.

Basically 99% slow or a 100% slow are pointless mechanics because it doesn't actually take you past 110 and even before then actually functions as like a 50 -70% slow.

Tldr it wouldn't be anywhere near a root, and not nearly as strong as a silence.

.75 sounds nice.

Talon is perfectly fine. He's in the same place as Diana and (recently) Fizz. Only people who actually know how to play the champion and know what they are doing can get kills now.

He holds barely hold over a 50% winrate with only seasoned Talon players playing him. If he was as popular as Zed or Riven his winrate would tank immediately. The weakness with Talon is his lane phase and with champions like Ahri and Zed who have pretty decent laning phases it harder to make it to the mid game. Im not gonna say Talon is useless but, I believe he needs a small buff in his passive. In his current state he literally has no passive. Late game if his Q is doing 1k damage it only adds 100 extra damage which is pretty useless late game if hes already doing 1000 on his q the rest of his abilities do enough more than enough damage to end the targets life. His passive caters towards talon being played as a fighter and not a burst assassin. i don't believe 10% extra damage across all abilities instead of only AA's is overpowered.

Talon is dependent of getting early kills. If you can get a good Talon player FB and a second kill, it's gonna be very difficult for anyone in the other team to stop him... if he's a good player. He'll roam and start farming the kills himself. I know this because I've seen it.

But like you said, unfortunately he's not as popular as Zed Leblanc, so they don't really care about working with him, and thus, they are very careful about "nerfing" the popular ones. I don't think there'll ever be a true nerf to any of those champs.

I rather have an utility passive on him, since I'm absolutely certain that if Talon gets anything that gives him extra spell damage his actual ability damage will get nerfed by Riot.

Riot does not buff without compensation nerfs, whether it's immediate or in a future patch.

What kind of utility do you think he deserves as his passive?

Mmm maybe something to match his theme better, like a "street assassin" ya know? Get in, kill his target, and then sneak away in the shadows unseen. The damage amp, imo, was a poorly thought-out decision.

Since he only has one form of blink gapcloser (all other assassins have at least 2 or more), I suggest he could become invisible for a few seconds upon kill or assist so at least he isn't a complete sitting after using his combo.

But my idea also has counterplay unlike the insta-blinks of Zed, Leblanc, Akali, etc. His invisible state could easily be thwarted by pink wards or upgraded sweepers.

Still I can also see it being a bit problematic; tell me what you think :D

He just needs utility imo. His damage is there, he just doesn't have the kind of flexibility that other assassins have. Like with zed and leblanc you have 3 outplay buttons, with talon you have a flash key, a blink that only functions as an engagement tool 90% of the time, and an ult that can be countered for 250 gold. He's just not a good pick atm, and I definitely wouldn't consider him on par with diana or fizz. Those two have kits that are very rewarding when played correctly, whereas talon's is a kit geared towards capitalizing on your enemy playing badly.

clearly they intend Frozen Mallet to be a core item on Talon

ccseancc1431 votes

They did, and his intended build was to have it in his kit. They wanted him to be a sustain fighter.
