Curious is all, I ran into about 3 yesterday consecutively in team builder. Idk how but the one that i had on my team won lane. Is it a thing? does it work? I'm curious is all, I decided to try it because I'm bored and im currently looking for a game in Teambuilder. It just sounded like it might be a fun new thing to try.
Alakalzam2 votesI stumbled across this today Alistar Guide. It's a guide written by a Diamond player for playing Alistar Support, AP Assassin, AP Bruiser, or AD Bruiser. Whether the builds are viable, I can't say. I've never tried it and I didn't see win rates for Alistar on champion.gg for anything other than support (which is where 85% of people play him).

EndlessSorcerer2 votesIIRC, he was nerfed for Alistar jungle during Season 2 and he was nerfed for Alistar top in Season 4.
Alistar jungler received nerfs to hsi base damages and Trample to weaken his ability to clear jungle camps.
Alistar top received nerfs by removing his ability to AA a target who was just knocked away by Headbutt (meaning you could no longer proc Statikk Shiv and Spellblade to harass in lane).

IcyPepper1 votesI'm sure they can buff one role without buffing another, at least for this guy specifically (not every champion can so).
Some champion abilities deal extra damage against monsters, so if they wanted him to jungle they could look into it. I mean, they buffed Lee Sin, and while he's not the best solo queue it's undeniable that he's a staple pro pick (but doesn't get treated like Azir, fortunately), so buffing Alistar's jungling ability without touching his support role (and keeping him out of the top lane, hopefully?) is a possibility. Maybe.

Though I will say it is fucking hilarious if you get a ludens and delete someone with your headbutt
Stellafreyja1 votesI was against one as Quinn a few days ago. Kept headbutting me away while I was trying to CS...I kept trying to poke, but I had to be careful of using my E because he'd probably use that knock-up as I rushed in.
Needless to say, it was annoying...
