Mage Update and the Fear of loss.

"Champion Update isn’t here to change things for the sake of change, but to improve League of Legends by constantly improving upon the game’s roster of champs. If changes -- artistic, mechanical, or otherwise -- don’t feel like big gains to players, those changes are missing the mark." -Quote from the Flawed Fencer post.

This is the underlying fear myself and all Vel'koz fans have with the announcement that he is one of the "Big 6" In the upcoming mage update.

To be fair to Riot they've announced this ahead of time and asked for feedback ....but this has happened before.

There are countless threads and posts out there which go into detail as to why people believe Vel'koz is in an okay spot and shouldn't be reworked at all. I'm heavily inclined to agree with them. There are many mages and other champions who could use the tweaking more.

Any change to Vel'koz at this point does seem like "change just for the sake of change." Why would anyone want to risk ruining a seemingly perfectly balanced champion just so some designer can have his "Distinctiveness" fetish satisfied?

Salt aside, My...and everyone else's worry is that Vel'koz will be added to the long list of needless or ...lets say inefficient to be polite...reworks such as Mordekaiser ,Cassiopeia ,Karma where the original mains and fans of these champions are left with a "Sorry we'll try better next time in several years from now" from Riot.

Dear Champ Up Team: You've asked for feedback and its unanimous that Vel'koz doesn't need changed, and the player base doesn't want him to be changed.

I've never seen the boards so united in an issue before so please....for the love of all thats holy, don't say you didn't get feedback, and don't give us a half ass apology if you go ahead with this and receive lots of hate and frustration in return.

Vel'koz is okay. Test your new scary and risky ideas on someone who could actually use them please.

Karma They need to rework her and make Karma fun to play again. She is boring to play, her passive is useless after max cooldown reduction, her ULT seems like a waste of space, and her only damage move is Q. Fix your mistakes Riot and don't wait 2-3 years to fix them. God they are one of the worst when it comes to updating and balancing champions. They sit here updating and balancing champions that don't need it. Why don't you listen to player feedback and fix the mistakes you are HIGHLY aware of.
