I think I am beginning to understand the problem with LoL's balance

The thing is, Riot doesnt really know who they are balancing FOR. The general fun of the game? The pros? The low level noobs (myaself included)? What the boards say? So basically they get dragged in so many directions. People are constantly asking for nerfs and buffs, and there is a big ripple effect by just making one change.

I think they generally balance around both.

Urgot for example, has never really caught ground with the playerbase compared to the competitive scene, so the nerfs are obviously directed towards the pro scene

Whereas someone like Riven who has just been nerfed is generally considered weak in competitive, yet OP among us.

So it's arguable that they try to balance around both.

actually i think they said something along the lines of.... well u need to balance for someone, and "pro's", higher lv players really.... are the ones who have the consistent skills and mechanics to be able to balance around....

i suppose i should find the statements im referencing.... ill take a quick look

and then there was nidalee who wasnt op at all and was finally in a decent enough spot to actaully be PICKED competitively. and the forum complain that they cant dodge spears because she is bugged with invisble spear .01% of the time an instead of fixing the bug they nerf her.
