abilities arent autoattacks

I dont think that ezreal q or gp q should proc klepto, as they are abilities and not autoattacks

I might get downvoted to hell, but this isn't the first time an exception has been made for things that proc on hit effects (Cait's headshot on hurricane, same reasoning was used).

Champs like jax, nasus, leona have empowered auto attacks from abilities, but it's still an aa

So basically, you want these champs nerfed further?

when their kits are entirely reliant on a single rune......

Well, Ezreal wasn't until they nerfed him to hell.

And then nerfed the rune, too. . .

the rune seems to be a much bigger problem.

I believe that it is sort of a combination of both. Some champs can make far too superior use out of a rune so I believe that they will sort of be in lock step. If the rune is good, that's all those champions can realistically take and will warp things. I think it'll be similar to the Vlad / Will of the Ancients issue.

I agree with you...they aren't AAs so they shouldn't proc Klepto

I can agree with the ezreal point, but in gankplanks case its designed to be an auto attack for the purpose of on hit things, being that he is melee 99% of the time

Think of it like a single use kayle e. It dosent change the auto attack other then adding range, so its closer to a buff then an actual ability.

the problem is there's no risk with a high reward, You automatically get gold from a point and click ability with gangplank, and then from ezreal, the mana cost is low enough he can spam q if he has teardrop and use whatever mana pots he gets from item drops.

With that reasoning, it would mean that these spells don't proc sheen, too.

And that nerf is way too harsh, it would require some really hard rebalancing or even rework for Ezreal and Gangplank if these don't proc spellblade anymore.

sheen is not the same as klepto, and there can be specific exceptions made, (IE, cait still can proc shiv from headshot, but can't stack headshot from hurricane)

They didn't make a such changes to Cait. What they did was just changing her passive counter from an on-hit effect to an on-attack effect.

They didn't have to make exceptions for Shiv, since nothing about her headshot changed. Just the counter is counting differently now, instead of counting the targets hit, it counts the attacks casted.

Kleptomancy is a different case. It is coded as a spellblade effect, just like the effects of item 3025 item 3100 item 3057 item 3078

They all are spellblade effects when it comes to code, you would have to change Kleptomancy's code, not the ability. And if you want to make the exception: That is inconsistent as hell. You want them to be unable to proc Kleptomancy with it, because it states that a spell is enhancing your next AA with the effect..... Which is worded exactly the same way like the spellblade effects.

It makes no sense for these spells to be able to trigger sheen, but not Kleptomancy. The effects are phrased exactly the same. So why should it work with one of them and not the other? This is inconsistent, something that Riot clearly tries to avoid as much as possible.
