Hey just checking as it is very rare that I run into other eve mains ever would you be ok if i asked you a few questions for tips and tricks?

Ask whatever you want.... I play Evelynn very different than most though.
Sure thanks it was about a few things, firstly about builds
Im pretty sure I use a rather generic build of Runeglaive into Rilays into tank, and I noticed that you tend to prefer the pure assassin route/the hybrid build. 1) Is there a specific reason you prefer to play it this way and in turn do you have an opinion on if assassin/duelist? eve scales better/worse then bruiser eve.
Secondly since preseason I have found that my ganks before i get stalkers blade to be very hard to nigh impossible (like I only get a kill in pre stalkers ganks in 1/4 games or so were before preseason I was able to pull it off in 2/3 games or so). Have you been noticing this too and if you have, have you been changing your play style in relation to this?

Correct.
2350 gold
3200 gold
Rylais is a newb-trap item.... it gives less damage than Abyssal Scepter but is far more expensive. Abyssal Scepter gives more survivability (against AP) and greatly improves your clear time in jungle (-35 MR = Shred shred shred).
Most importantly; If your ult slow and blue smite do not provide enough time to kill someone, you are not going to kill them anyway... they will run to turret or an ally will assist. Remember that slows do not stack anymore.

Evelynn is classified as an "Assassin" but the truth is, she is more of a fast-duelist. She can never lock someone down and kill them without presenting a target the way Zed and Talon do.... or Ahri used to do with a successful Charm---> Death. Evelynn takes damage and has no way of disabling the enemy.
Because of this and her abysmal scaling across the board, she will never be able to beat ... pretty much any character in a straight-up 1v1 unless she heavily stacks towards damage.
Point being; I play it in that way to make the most of her biggest strength, stealth.
Early game, you will have better success with the "tank" Evelynn people like to play. But towards mid mid and late mid game, you will overtake "tank" Evelynn and become a far greater threat. Early mid game it should still be about the same.
Hybrid/Assassin Evelynn scales MUCH better than "tank" Evelynn (Rylais build).
Starting
First items
First back
, if you see no lanes highly overextended, do three camps or four if you got leash, if you managed to score a kill/assist or fourth camp buy
After that , buy
Once you have that, take some risks to gank some non overextended enemies, or if all lanes are pushed, invade enemy jungle and counter jungle or engage enemy jungler, probably won't kill but will force flash/steal a camp.
Buy runeglaive.
Then buy
Once you have Abyssal Scepter... if you have ult, smite and ignite, you can solo anyone that isn't INSANELY fed or a heavy tank. Stalk the enemy ADC and possibly APC depending on who it is.
After that , build depends on enemy team composition, if it is heavy AP, buy
might be worth buying
instead (Only against Fizz), if it is heavy AD buy
, otherwise
which is absolutely the best bang for your buck, barring edge cases like ultra heavy AD or ultra heavy AP, etc.
Try to find targets to stalk (preferrably enemy ADC, especially if it's an easy ADC to kill like Jinx/Ashe/Varus).... during team clashes there are three choices; Initiate with your ult, tagging the most you can (If you tag 5 it's almost guaranteed GG if your team reacts) going in after to try to do max damage... you will die but you will ensure that your team will have a huge advantage.
Option two; Ult and then fake out, just Q and E the first target which will often (Almost always) bait the entire enemy team to chase/focus you, then run away .... during the chase your team will have free targets to kill.
Option three; Flank the enemy, wait for engage and assassinate the backline.
Option four(if you are waaay behind or are playing defensively); Stand near the ADC and focus whoever dives him. It is a safe option that will lead them to two bad choices; Focus the ADC and you kill them, or focus you and the ADC kills them.
If you suspect or are sure that your team is absolute trash/putrid scoriae/human garbage; Put it all on the table, like a real man (Aehuaehueuhehue)

The worse your team is, the higher the movement speed and damage you will need... play only assassination and split push.... catch enemies while rotating if you can. That is the best way to carry 4 chuckleheads that couldn't distinguish between a pothole and a brain hemorrhage.
That's how I play Evelynn... for the most part. Probably the biggest problem is teammates not reacting to ganks/not reacting to team fights. That is the most annoying thing.
Secondly since preseason I have found that my ganks before i get stalkers blade to be very hard to nigh impossible
Early ganks are generally a bad idea unless the enemy is way overextended and you are high health. That's one of the reasons I take ignite instead of flash. If you can score an early kill that will expedite your transition from Evelynn's ATROCIOUS early game into her mediocre early mid game.
Don't overcommit or risk death. Evelynn's early is already bad, if you die, it becomes near impossible to recover.
Have you been noticing this too and if you have, have you been changing your play style in relation to this?
No, not really. I've always avoided the very early ganks because 1- other early junglers will easily solo Evelynn (Rengar/Lee/etc.) and 2- Evelynn's early burst is pathetic.
Again, a lot of people will put their chips all into early game which is a terrible idea because Evelynn's early game is awful, she has arguably the worst clear of any jungler in the game.... and her damage is so low early game that you will not be able to assassinate anyone anytime soon unless they are so wildly overextended that you could score the kill with any jungler.
Thanks so much for the detailed response. Im reading it through now and its making a lot of sense Ill experiment with what your telling me and see how it does (I assume that it will be a rather large play style difference late game which ill have to learn but Im sure I can pick it up). Again thanks so much for the advice =),
Sincerely, Appreciated
No problem.
I forgot to mention a very important part; Never start the "standard" route... if you are the team on the bottom of the map, don't start golems, start gromp.
If you are on the upper side, start golems, not gromp.
It will make the clear harder but Evelynn is a very attractive jungler to invade, especially since if you follow my instructions, you will not have flash.
During second clear use your wards to ward the chokepoint near Crimson Raptors (To the left of upper crimson raptors/to the right of lower crimson raptors). Protect yourself from invades early game jungle clear, when you are at your weakest. Use it during the first clear if you are strongly suspecting a very early gank.
Ok thanks alot Ive currently never been invaded on eve (probably due to my elo only being mid silver) (Except by a
who stole my red and left) (although I always put safety wards regardless) but as soon as I start seeing people invade Ill start putting that into practice.
