Anyone else miss Nexus Blitz?

Yeah.

It was really cool.

We currently have no way to try champions, besides bot matches, or a full Summoners Rift game.

If you join SR in say top lane, and miss-play / feed in the first few minutes, you can't just press reset, and try again.

You might get stuck in an hour long game, while your team degrades you for sucking.

In Blitz, you could try a champ you suck at, and if you failed, nobody really cared.

You can try again with a fresh game, in 10-20 minutes.

Also, it was a good place to play with friends of different skill level.

If you are 2 gold players, and a third player joins the group, who is bronze 5, it is easier to carry them, and for everyone to have fun.

In SR, your poor bronze buddy might get placed against a plat 1 trick.... and feed / not have fun / ruin game for others.

Much less of an issue in the Blitz atmosphere.

Not really. It wasn't as satisfying to win for me. The Nexii running it down mid was funny but the should find a more rewarding way to close out games that go on too long.
