Why are skin releases so late as of recently?

I dunno what is going on at Riot but we are getting a lot of late skin releases as of late. Skins that were supposed to be released are being delayed, sometimes by entire patches. The RPG skins were late, the Worldbreaker skins were late. The Poppy/Braum chroma's were REALLY late, and now Elementalist Lux is late. So what the heck is going on?

They always release skins at various time throughout the patches... they aren't late. Plus this patch 6.23 happened to be at the same time as Thanksgiving in America so there are of course going to be a few things to slow it down more then other patches.

They did a magnificent job of letting the hype die down, wonder what they were thinking. Not that i won't buy the skin but still.
