Ekko jungle no longer viable?

I tried playing Ekko jungle after his nerfs in 6.11, and I gotta say that he's not longer a viable jungler. His early clearing speed and sustain simply aren't up to par, so would it be possible to up the damage his passive deals against monsters or decrease its individual cooldown versus monsters, if not both? I'm just curious if Riot has any plans to up Ekko's game in the jungle.

After 6.11, ekko isn't viable anywhere. His jg clear is insanely awful, and cuts deep into his hp (the shield from his w doesn't persist long enough to matter since it ends after the stun duration). He can still gank effectively...if you're not ridiculously behind.

Ekko was never very great at mid lane, and now he's absolute bottom tier.

Pretty much anyone with a modified AA can do a red side clear with AS runes. Krug buff is OP.

ekko jungle was viable? I never really got the point in doing that.

As shyv I used to go into his jungle and just punch him in the nose and really awkwardly just steal his buffs unless his team came to help him. I didn't even rush to invade I was just like

red > blue > invade... ekko would still be doing his red or blue, it was pretty pathetic to watch everytime.

Same, but replace Shyvana with Yorick. More sustain, more terrifying lategame

He's still more successful as a tanky bruiser in spite of the base damage nerfs, as opposed to a conventional AP assassin he was designed as. He's prone to getting counterjungled by other champions who can throw their weight around and pester junglers with relative safety, and with that chunk of HP and resistances he stands a much better chance of not being blown up instantly and having a lot more wiggle-room as far as self-peeling and slipping out of an unfavourable fight goes.

Most assassins are a niche jungle choice in general because they don't have the peeling/initiating power or the same ability to commit to a fight as most tanks/fighters do, and are tuned toward blowing people up in the earlier portion of the game and maintaining a snowball that jungle camps alone can't provide. AP Ekko is a shining example of this, and when a (sort of) off-meta build of his in an unconventional position starts to fall out of favor it is is unrealistic to expect him to maintain the degree of sh**roll-factor he previously had.

no its really not. the passive was all going for him in the jungle. ap builds are. not good in the jungle because you will take too much aggro even late game. bruiser or full tank is the way to go but with his passive nerfed. thats kinda out of the window. i used to get devoure on him and go full tank. but no devoure and thats not possible. devoure was op but at least. it made some fun builds somewhat viable. it was really the only non bare stat item that gave you combat power.

also you have to consider that the W passive was nerfed as well. so that hurts his jungle even more

Ekko jungle was kinda-viable/a-bit-weak before the nerfs. Completely unusable after the nerfs.

Ekko was actually one of the first characters I got to level 5 mastery when that system was introduced, and it was solely by playing jungle. Back in the day, starting at krugs and getting their smite buff, then going to red usually worked out pretty well for me, I cleared red with full hp and pretty quickly like that. Lately though, not so much. Especially hurts as I would always play AP, I felt it was more fun, but clearing is far too damaging now to make it worth.. Really unfortunate that some characters have to be put into near unviability because their kit allows abuse in some form or another...
