Riot, I thought you had learned your lesson.

L0ve Is Blue··5 votes·845 views

First there was Mordekaiser rework. People asked you not to do it, but you still did. The champion was tottaly lost to his devoted mains and now he is barely playable solo again.

Then there was dynamic queue. One whole year of pain and struggle until you admit it can't satisfy all the community.

And now we have those plants. How much do yall wanna bet these shits are going to get in the game anyway and will end up being a mess that will take another year for Riot to admit they fucked up? Seriously I haven't seen ANYONE being positive about this change, scrapping it would be a wonderfull example of the company listening to its community. Don't force things people don't want, don't try to fix what is not broken, don't try to put any shit in the game just for fun. Those plants bring a luck factor in a competitive game that should be based on skills. Just don't.

Ok lets never change anything about the game ever again. Does that sound better to you?

Sometimes changes work and sometimes they fall flat. Its the nature of game development.

YES. Sounds way better than just adding random shits like skarner passive and those plants. Some changes this season were ok (dragons) but I really think when the community is so vocal about a change they don't want the best would just be to not put it on live.

Ralanr3 votes

Changes happen to shake things up. It's supposed to help change the flow of the game so new strategies can be developed.

L0ve Is Blue3 votes

I don't see how a random spawning heal/escape/vision brings strategy. You either are lucky and find it or you aren't. If you wanna change strategy make changes to towers, items, add objectives, but don't put random buffs around the map.

Ralanr4 votes

Adapting to the situation and making use of what you have requires strategical thinking. You need to be prepared for when the unpredictable happens.

L0ve Is Blue3 votes

Oh! This 350HP heal just spawned next to me. Much strategy. Very thinking. wow.

Hey! So much luck! Enemies are doing dragon and This vision plant just spawned here! Wow. Very thinking.

Oh! I'm running away from someone and this knockback plant just spawned in front of me! Yay. I am skilled.

Ralanr4 votes

It's not that different from having to change your tactics when someone on your or the enemy team DCs.

Luck is a factor in almost everything we do. It's how you adapt and how quickly you can adapt that matters.

L0ve Is Blue3 votes

There is a HUGE diffrence between a player disconnecting and the game developpers introducing a totaly random mechanic that rewards a player for nothing special.

Ralanr4 votes

Yeah there is a big difference. The ability to capitalize on it is still the same.

I'm not saying I like plants, but honestly I'd be bored if Riot didn't change things around a bit. That's what a preseason is for.

And just because the community doesn't like it doesn't mean the community is right. Not many people on these boards have a great understanding of game balance. Not saying Riot is perfect because they've made a lot of mistakes (Mordekaiser rework prime example) but they should be allowed to experiment with their own game.

Not helping his thread at all to be honest.

You obviously have never played an online game where they literally didn't do any changes for years on end.

Akenero5 votes

We don't know what plants do exactly, let's learn more about them before making assumptions.

L0ve Is Blue3 votes

YOU don't know what they do. Go read on the thread in the dev corner.

Spicy Rice4 votes

Since they aren't even on pbe yet, you don't know either

L0ve Is Blue3 votes

They litteraly explained everything about them in the dev post.

ModWulf Helhammer5 votes

Far from it. They gave a few examples of some plants they were testing, but besides that, we don't know how they spawn, how often, where, or even the full scope of what they will do.

L0ve Is Blue1 votes

All said on the post. Just read it god damn. There is also answers to it not just the first post.

LoomberFoot4 votes

I will save my judgement till they come out and I play a few games with them in it.

Meep Man3 votes

Or, you know, they give out more than 50% of the information revolving around plants

LoomberFoot2 votes

Even if I read 100% of the information I won't be able to fully understand it in combat situations since I learn by experiencing it and not reading it. And anyways who knows they might be a great or they might be horrible. It is all theoretical till it is actually on the real server since I don't play on the pbe.

xBushx2 votes

People are blowing this out of proportion like pre-season last year.

however, I personally feel the plants are just an excuse and distraction to take away smite buffs and enemy targeted smites and make the game more balanced.

In turn they KNOW they are putting in something we don't want or need, but it's just to get our mind off the change to smite. then they get to look like heroes by listening to the community.

It's really obvious mark my words this is the plan.

Well people were right about pre-season last year. S6 was terrible at every level.

Give that a read and tell me what you think though...a lot more context put into that post I made.

Weren't last years preseason changes the adcs? I think that was pretty successful.

L0ve Is Blue3 votes

No. Preseason last year was dynamic queue, rift herald and changes to jungle that all failed to brind something to the game. The adc was a group update just like the mage update they did some months ago.

I just looked it up and it was marksmen, starting items, rift herald, keystones, and tracker's knife only. The jungle changes were mid season just like the mage update. Dynamic started with the actual season as far as the posts I found state. You should look things up before you spout off things that are wrong.

L0ve Is Blue3 votes

Dynamic queue WAS in the pre-season too. And keystones are just another mistake added to the list of changes we wont revert.

nm10104 votes

Keystones were a good change, again I just looked it up again and dynamic was started 2 weeks before the ranked season started. But it crashed and was disabled until ~3 days before the season. I guess you could call 3 days out of 2 months part of the preseason though.

L0ve Is Blue3 votes

Keystones were a good change

Aight no point talking to you anymore xD

nm10105 votes

I mean I will admit it is an opinion, but I like having meaningful mastery points. It might not be implemented the best quite yet, but the concept as a whole is good.

L0ve Is Blue2 votes

Ya

nm10103 votes

Probably, he seems to care about petty things quite a bit.

L0ve Is Blue2 votes

I'm just proving my points. I don't see why I would need to get upvotes to feel good about my opinion. The thread has negative votes and I don't give a shit I still stand by my opinions and have facts to back them.

nm10105 votes

You don't have facts, you actually have been called on a lack of facts a few times now.

L0ve Is Blue2 votes

And everyone who has called me out on that can't even agree on what I am wrong. I say Dyna Q was in preseason, then you say it wasn't, then another guy say it was, then another says it was in the last weeks of preseason.

I say they made changes to jungle in preseason (items, gold, exp, stats) and everyone assumes I am talking about S5 preseason.

I say the new plant system is bad because its random and doesn't require any skills, then people come up to me and say we don't have any informations about the plants when the Dev stated numerous numbers (amount healed, spawn time, etc.)

But yeah I lack facts.

Ralanr4 votes

Or because different people are arguing different points in your argument.

Because you know, there isn't always one right answer.

nm10103 votes

I mean on this specific thread there are 5 people, 4 are discussing it. You, Ralanr, avantelwings, and I. 3 of us agree against you, so you might want to change to discussion view (if you aren't) and reread the comments.

You said

Well people were right about pre-season last year. S6 was terrible at every level.

Which made me assume you were talking about last year since that is what you said.

They also said it is still in development and things are expected to change. They also said they have defined locations and will typically mirror spawns on the map. They are no more random then where scuttle is when you walk into river.

L0ve Is Blue2 votes

Scuttle spawns periodicaly and has a fixed respawn time. They explicitly said those plants will spawn randomly in semi specific locations.

nm10101 votes

But he also moves, yes? That movement can make a difference between yasuo dashing to catch someone or them getting away. That is randomness influencing the game.

The plants also aren't really all that game changing so far. We have a ziggs w, ashe e, and some healing.

L0ve Is Blue3 votes

Keystones broke champions that were totaly fine before and established the meta by themself. First it was thunderlord, than sunfire iceborn grasp, than fervor, and there was warlord who got reworked 04839048029 times because it broke yasuo and tryndamere.

Ralanr3 votes

It was changed two times. First a hotfox and then a rework.

L0ve Is Blue2 votes

They tried to fix the first one a lot of times before they reworked it.

Ralanr2 votes

I only remember the hotfix to make it only proc off of champions. What else did they do before reworking it do a straight lifesteal passive?

L0ve Is Blue1 votes

Now only triggers versus champions.

Healing adjusted to 5% - 25% (based on level) from 15% at all levels. Attack speed increased to 30% from 20%.

BUG FIX: Fixed a bug where Warlord's Bloodlust's attack speed buff was lasting one second less than intended.

BUG FIX: Its cooldown was sometimes being ignored.

Reworked Gain 0.06% - 20% (based on Missing health) bonus Life Steal versus champions, and half as much versus minions. The amount of Life Steal gained caps-out at 80% missing health, but does not scale linearly. 10% missing health: ~1% 50% missing health: ~9% 80% missing health: 20%

Life steal against minions reduced to 25% from 50% for ranged champions

nm10103 votes

They had to be balanced, introducing a new feature into a game with 100+ champions is very hard to get right on release. They still have created a lot of diversity and strategic decisions, where as before you had pretty straightforward set ups.

ModWulf Helhammer3 votes

You can't even get what you're taking about right. Preseason 6 was dynamic queue and the ADC update. Preseason 5 was when they introduced the new SR map, and changed the jungle.

L0ve Is Blue2 votes

They changed jungle item and also changed baron and dragon death (now global scream announcing it instead of people having to actualy keep track of the objectives with vision). Talking of vision they also made the changes to sight stone and trinket that are still pretty bad.
