As soon as anivia was tuned down correctly to make her require skill; people freaked out

I don't think the anivia players realize how strong she is compared to other mids. She has a zac passive which makes her basically undivable 6-, and her stun combo can legit one shot you at level 6 with 100+ AP. If she's gotten an early kill, you're completely screwed, she can block you off with terrain, and doesn't need AP to do damage. Seeing a 10ish AP anivia bring down an adc to half hp just with her ice shard thing and ult was pretty dumb.

People on these boards have a boner for "immobile mages". Or mages in general. Nothing new.

I'm not sure how you think this was a correct fix. She can still use her "stun combo". In fact, she can do it MORE easily now, because Q has a longer stun duration, and E has a slightly longer range. And if she lands her ult on you, she can still do that instant R+E combo you hate.

If you think this was the correct nerf, I wonder: what about her ult, by itself, did you think was too strong?

It seems to me (as someone who plays Anivia) that if anything was too strong, it was the E, not the ultimate. The ultimate provided a lot of utility but not really that much damage on its own.

The reaction to the ult change was more due to the fact that it felt horribly awkward to use rather than the power reduction.
