The last time Riot had created a champ that didn't cost 6300 IP was Sion.
Since then...EVERY SINGLE CHAMP they created was 6300 ip. Either buff ip gains or lower prices?

The reason for that is because Sion wasn't a new champion, but was reworked. Any champion that was reworked don't have their IP prices changed.
Because Sion wasn't a new champion. And you know, Ryze doesn't cost 6300 IP either.
Pretty sure Sion was one of the original 40 champions released with the game.
They have a formula for it. Pretty sure it goes as follows but I may be wrong. Everytime a new champion is created they lower the price on a 4800 champions price to 3150. Every four champions created they lower the price of a 6300 champion based on release date. Don't know what they do for the other prices though.
EDIT: Also all reworks cost the same amount they did before their rework, which is why Poppy is 450
Every new champion release pushes the oldest 6300 to 4800. Then every 3, a random 4800 or lower is reduced as well.

They're actually 7800 now when they're first released. Riot gets greedier every year it seems.
... it's been 7800 IP for the first week since Jinx was released. Might want to pay attention before claiming Riot's getting greedier.
Despite my not making mention of it earlier, I do agree IP costs is rediculous for all champions. I've been playing for almost 3 years, and still have like... months and months to go. I don't even have all 4800 champions.... or even close to as many runes to fill 3 roles well and the popular champs.
