I honestly feel like ezreal is always meta. He just benefits so much from random indirect changes. Spirit of the elder lizard op? Time to spam EZ ADC, tear of the goddes got buffed? Random blue ezreal build incoming, The ap jungle item uses sheen? Ap EZ op. I think riot grossly underestimated the power of procing on hit effects at range. I swear he should have a hidden passive where he can no longer buy jungle items.
EndlessSorcerer1 votesHe wasn't really used much during the Cinderhulk meta, due to his relatively low sustained damage to tanks compared to other marksmen.
IIRC, he also had difficulties during the Assassin meta of season 4 since he didn't have to burst damage to kill them and many of them could stick to him long enough to blow him up.
atomicwit1 votesEzreal is statistically pretty weak atm in his primary role and just average as an APC despite his popularity. Before Runeglaive, he was a rare pick in competitive and definitely not contested.
