On DuskBlade, From An Assassin Main

It's FAR from being enough to replace Last Whisper. That's really my entire message. This is something that can only be useful when the enemy has ONE extremely high priority target who is so ahead that he/she can tank an assassin's full combo and fight back afterwards. Last Whisper was the go-to in any situation, and that was understandably unhealthy, but this thing is sooooo niche. Probably the only thing it's good for is to counter blue Ezreal or Graves with item 3053 . Seriously, what assassin CAN'T 100-0 an ADC without Nightfall?(Kassadin item 3070, but he's not AD ) Talon 100-0s just fine. Zed , under the most ideal situation, has the damage to oneshot ADCs 2~3 times with one combo. Khazix will probably be dead without getting a reset by the time Nightfall goes off, and Rengar does NOT need anymore damage. Between the fast-paced meta, the relative strength of thunderlord, and the compensation buffs(which Talon didn't get for some reason), AD assassins are in a decent spot already. Those who are still problematic have their problems rooted within their own kits. Like Khazix , he's shitty because his isolation makes him SO reliant on his enemies making mistakes, especially compared to someone like Zed , who can just go up to you and kill you whenever he wants to so long as you don't have QSS/Zhonya. On the other hand, Rengar is considered too strong because his multiple Q is an innately broken concept--melee autos are about the fastest offensive move in this game aside from summoner 14 , and, as the game goes on, the damage of auto attacks scale from being the equivalent of getting hit by a tractor, to the equivalent of getting hit by the entire farm. Now, MAYBE this item does help assassins against tanks, but tanks have never been the target of assassins. I'm immensely grateful that Riot wants to actually do something nice for assassins for once, but I can't help but feel that MAYBE this is not the best direction they could've gone. But again, I'm sooo happy that Riot isn't treating AD assassins like adopted childrens anymore, and I want to say a big thank you to them.

Consider that the CD resets if you do kill the target without the passive. That means that if the assassin survives they can potentially kill two targets instead of one. Everything else you said sounds pretty fair though.

Well, that's just it. Assassins don't need the potential to kill two targets; they need to kill ONE target efficiently. Adding this kind of unnecessary power can only lead to assassins becoming extremely OP and then receiving huge nerfs again. My whole point is that I want a TINY bit more chance of success at diving a squishy, and nothing else that could bring down that nerf hammer. Last time it fell my poor Talon learned cutankle.

I dont think that an AD Assassin bursting down one champion then having the damage to deal enough damage to another in 2 seconds to make the passive relevant is going to be realistic.

Although they can use that passive to peel their ADC with damage, which is kinda power not needed on an assassin.
