Tombstone/Graveyard Skin Ward - Forget the name of this but I already got it a few weeks ago in a box.

10-11 champion shards - I have all of the champs, but at least this means I don't have to spend IP til probably next spring for champs

Some thoughts and explanations:

  • I was disappointed with getting duplicate skins. There's 566 skins in the game as of winter 2015 and I still got 5 sets of duplicates. Those are impossible odds in only 25ish cases.

  • I was disappointed with getting skins for champs I don't really play. I personally don't believe that these chests are "random" and I do believe Riot does have something that helps determine what gets picked. I assumed since there's almost 130 champs, there should be a great bit of variety, but was disappointed.

  • I really won't keep that many skins of what I unboxed. Championship Shyvanna is my favorite one.

  • Disappointed that 0 orange essence was given

  • Skins I really wanted were Riot Kayle, Toy Soldier GP, Project Ashe(or atleast an Ashe skin) and Arcade MF

  • I'm also disappointed that you can only buy 2 Augment Cache bundles in a day. I don't really see a reason for this.

  • Remember, when you do these, you aren't getting skins. You are getting skin shards. You need essence to activate these. Frankly, I only had enough essence to unlock about 6 skins after all was said and done, which kind of sucked, despite deactivating most of the skins into essence.

  • Do I think it was worth it? If you just like skins in general and don't have a ton of preferences, yes. If you want specific ones, no. Money wise, it probably was worth it considering what I got is sold by Riot for a lot more. It's also worth considering that due to steep Orange Essence prices, you probably will end up paying about $8 per skin if you activate them. Someone mentioned to me that buying mystery skins might work out better and they are right, as you'd get 17 skins for the same price I paid.

I had much better luck with my Augments. I opened 10(two 5 bundles) and got and was able to unlock DJ Sona, Infernal Nasus, Astronautilus, and had 3 skins to reroll that got me Hyena WW. Overall I was very pleased with more than my moneys worth in skins. I had many legendaries and epics that I didn't want which helped a lot for getting orange essence.

I got Infernal Nasus too which I had sold off.

It really depends on what you want or are looking for. I know some people would be excited period about legendaries but I was hoping for specific ones since I can't justify dropping $15 on a skin.

Well then you do have to understand you are playing the odds. You can say that you are disappointed that you lost 500 dollars at the casino without any sort of win, and blame the casino establishment itself, but in reality you signed yourself up for it.

Yep, but I do question the odds of getting 5 duplicates in 30 cases out of 550 possible options. Even if you cut out some of the skin pricing tiers, the odds would have me getting more non-dupes.

Hm, I was curious so I did some simulations. I count 53 skins on your list, with 566 possible choices. The chance of getting 5 or more dupes is a little over 8%, which is low but not absurd. Of course, that assumes an even chance to get any skin, which is doubtful. The more skewed the distribution or the fewer skins in the set, the higher the chance of dupes, of course. If only half of the skins are available, the chance of getting 5 dupes is like 50%.

Assuming you just wanted one of four specific skins, the chance of getting at least one in 53 pulls was a little over 30%, again assuming that the skins you want are available and equally as common as any other skin.

If you only care about those four skins, the expected value of an augment cache is extremely low, of course. Assuming you are guaranteed two random skin shards in every box, you have about a 1.41% chance of getting a skin you want. That means you need to buy about 71 boxes to get one on average. Spending almost 21000 RP on one skin. So you're definitely right about not buying these if you are looking for something specific.

I unlocked 2 more boxes. Champion shard, Challenger Ahri and two duplicates - Dragonslayer J4 and Dark Crystal Ryze. 7 duplicates now in under 30 boxes. Ridiculous.

Adults with full-time jobs. Honestly, I only bought 2 whole skins prior to this. Skins > Dinner and a trip to the bar

you can disenchant all project materials for essence after the event (not sure which essence though)

Yep! Am definitely waiting to see how much they are worth. I have a strong feeling the project cores are not going to be worth much at all :( Personally, I'd like to see them be worth at least 100 Orange Essence. But my guess is they will be worth 30-50, and I would not be shocked if its blue essence.

I re rolled Frejilord Taliyah, Project leona & red card TF and got Commando lux. i feel stupid. I'm out.
