Questions about Overgrowth rune

I have been wondering for quite some time. Overgrowth, as we all know, gives +0.2% bonus max hp for every 8 creeps that die in your nearby vicinity. But does it refer to max total hp or max base hp? Or do you get the +0.2% Bonus from the moment of it's boost trigger? I have been seeing some...odd numbers...every time i have that rune on a champion, and i can't get my brain around the maths that work on it. Also, post 6% The numbers started to weird out a bit...got stuff like 7.81% and 9.23% once before, and i wondered. Does it after a certain amount begin to stack multiplicatively instead of additively?

This rune just confuses the living fuck out of me. somebody help my poor brain find mercy T_T

Its a modifier for your total health. So for every 40 minions that die near you, you have 1% increased maximum health. Thats 5% increased max HP for every 200 minions that die near you.

So, end game, if you have 5% increased HP from the rune, and 3000 HP (Prior to other modifiers aka cinderhulk) then the rune will grant you an additional 150 HP.

I have never gotten the rune up past 5% so im not sure what happens after that...?
