Sweeping Lens is simply inferior to Oracle Alteration. Can we get charges for Sweeper?

I pretty much never stick with Sweeping Lens since you can sweep multiple areas for wards with one Oracle usage and enough MS. Not to mention that a stealthed opponent can easily avoid a Sweeper's zone, but an Oracle zone can chase them.

To make Sweeping Lens a bit better, how about giving it a charge system similar to Smite? Basically, you can hold up to 2 charges, but they take considerable time to acquire, and you can't sweep twice within X seconds.

Isn't that why it's an upgrade...?

I'd say the same, but the yellow trinket isn't an upgrade and it's really good. The "alterations" are just that, and not explicitly an "upgrade" the way they used to be. Alteration implies they are made different, not better. In the case of Sweeper, better is exactly what the alteration is.

This. There isn't a whole lot that Sweeper can do better than Oracle.

Not really. It's supposed to be an "alternate option". But Oracle Alteration just crowds out the standard sweeper.

Since it's the only possible upgrade and it's free, why doesn't it auto upgrade like the yellow trnket?

sweeper is ranged, that's basically what it has going on for it

i think the main thing is that sweeper can be cast from further away, which enables you to disable a ward from safety before it spots you. it actually makes ganking pretty good in lane if you can pull it off right and you know your jungler wants to get past a warded spot

Then the jungler mindlessly decides to sweep the ward

RIP

I gave up doing that solely for that reason.
