Can we talk about Gnar?

Gnar anyone else feels he is overloaded?

He is a manaless champion wich is a nightmare for any melee toplaner and a hard matchup even for ranged toplaners

Unlike Elise Jayce Kayle or Nidalee , when he enters on melee he gains a huge damn boost to his defensive capacities, allowing him to Tank.

He has great mobility and iniciation capacities, and of course, scape capacity.

Low risk high reward gameplay. _ Heavy Zoning in top lane. _ Burst capacity.

Heavy DPS capacity.

What I think is one of the most powerful skillshots; boulder toss, which is heavily hard to miss and to avoid.

Low Cooldowns.

AoE damage and stun.

Heavy endless poke. _ Anti-tank capacities._

Is able to focus on damage/cdr/health and yet be able to tank tons of damage.

Frustrating to play against as a toplaner, and his only lane is the toplane.

When he gets ahead he becomes a monster, needung 3 or 4 man to take him down, yet he is still useful even when behind.

Hardly countered.

#So, can anyone tell me the disadventages of playing Gnar?... besides being an expensive Champ?

Other ranged Champs like Jayce or Quinn can make Gnar's life hard.

Yes but at the cost of mobility, and DPS

He has great mobility and iniciation capacities, and of course, scape capacity.

Yes but he isn't tanky at this time.

Low risk high reward gameplay.

His core playstyle involves him throwing himself into the enemy team to try to stun all of them. Hardly low risk.

Heavy Zoning in top lane. Burst capacity.

Zoning when Mini, Burst when Mega

Heavy DPS capacity.

Only when Mini

What I think is one of the most powerful skillshots; boulder toss, which is heavily hard to miss and to avoid.

Debatable. It has a long cast time, a average missile speed and can be blocked by minions and walls.

Low Cooldowns.

Only for the Q if he's catching/picking it up. His other abilities have pretty high CDs compared to other champs.

AoE damage and stun.

In Mega

Heavy endless poke.

In Mini

Anti-tank capacities.

In Mini

Is able to focus on damage/cdr/health and yet be able to tank tons of damage.

Depends on form

Frustrating to play against as a toplaner, and his only lane is the toplane.

Depends on matchup.

When he gets ahead he becomes a monster, needung 3 or 4 man to take him down, yet he is still useful even when behind.

No to the 3-4 people required to take him down. Champs being decent when behind isn't necessarily bad.

Hardly countered.

Pick Irelia into Gnar, have fun.

The whole thing about Gnar is that while yes he has a lot of tools, it's all gated by his uncontrollable transformation and shared ability Cooldowns. You don't get that high mobility and CC together. You don't get that extreme tankiness and damage together. It's all separate and unlike other transformation champs, it's not on demand.

Hello, I am an avid Gnar player and I think I can help with this.

Disadvantages: Rage bar is hard to attend to and manage If you don't catch his boomerang it has a 20 second CD If he uses his hop offensively, it can put him at risk. His ult can't be used in ranged form, making him have a smaller powerspike at 6 then most. Not good at dueling Has VERY hard counters Falls of late His AOE damage has long CD His AOE damage has a cast time Jumping twice can screw you over unexpectedly He can lose his rage while being CCed so if you stun lock, he can't mega It's easy to predict when he will ult

Ways to face him effectively: Throw skills where his boomerang is so he has to choose: dodge or get hit If he misses his boomerang, go aggro If he uses his E, call for a gank If he is melee form, abuse his melee range if a ranged character If he is in ranged form, dueling is a good idea since he has no ult, if he is near mega back off

I hope this helps, if you want to ask me more go ahead! [slayer-jinx-catface]

He's ranged manaless top lane cancer.

Frankly, the world would not be a worse place if he were gutted and forgotten, but they intend to keep him relevant.

Gnar is a weak champion who has way too much counterplay. You always know exactly when he's going to ult, so it's hard for Gnar to make those clutch plays like other champs can. Gnar should be able to choose when he ults, just like every other champ in this game.
