Is it just me or does it not really matter how well malphite does?

Now this isn't a complaint thread, the highest I've ever been was Gold in the latest preaseason so I don't consider myself good by any means so please don't consider this me saying MALPHITE OP QQ, I am simply asking for your opinions on him, thank you! :)

Anyway, continuing, whenever I vs ( Or play Malphite ) It seems like it doesn't really matter how badly malphite does, his ult always makes him relevant in team fights, How do i beat him? right now he does seem a little op but idk, :S

malphite can lose lane and still win teamfights. he can win lane and still lose the game.

with exceptions of ad heavy enemy teamcomps where he can really carry himself, its just his nature as a tank. he can enable his own carries and seal the deal for his team to win the game with a good engage and good peel, when his team is already ahead.

when the rest of his team is behind there is usually not much he can do, even when he comes strong out of the lane phase.

Dont group up until he uses it.

CC heavy champs are "always useful"

Well, yeah, he's a utility champion more than anything else. His main strength is engaging on people who are clumped. To avoid losing to Malphite, just stay spread out really. He doesn't do much damage and if you aren't clumped, you cannot get womboed.

To further counter Malphite, do not fight near places where you can be flanked with no vision. Vision will allow everyone to see Malphite so they are aware of it. Sona with Flash R is always useful and that's basically what Malphite R is like. Bait out the R and use the CD time for good engages. It is a long cooldown.

Malphite uses ult and then can't do much.

malphite doesnt do much damage against a regular team when he has to spread out his items into different stats. if youre picking 4 auto attack carries into him, dont be surprised when a 700 armor malphite beats you to a pulp.
