Diamond is in shambles, but Riot does nothing
Anyone who has played in this elo knows it. It's by far the worst elo to play in, with toxicity over triple that of any other elo. AFKs are rather common and it's more about which team got the AFK that particular game. Being told to kill yourself is about as common as "gg". People trollpicking or intentionally feeding immediately when something doesn't go their way is the default response.
And yet nothing is done. Game after game after game, it's the same thing. The same people do the same things and go unpunished. They do it every game, or every other game, and if its not them, its someone else. But the point is that they aren't being punished at all. Diamond isn't like lower elos... you will face people you have played before very often. You can see firsthand that days, weeks later, the people who ruined your games are still ruining games. They don't care either, they know they won't get punished. Today alone I've had at least 6 people who all deserved permabans. I'm talking... if these cases were reviewed, ANYONE can see that they need to have their accounts suspended indefinitely.
The problem is that... Riot is losing players, fast. They know they are. So they don't want to start banning more people because their population will go down even more. They say that 0.01% of the population is toxic... when its closer to 1000x higher than that, it's just that they only punish 1/1000th of the players that deserve it. This game would be MUCH less stressful if these people were just dealt with immediately. And it would be a lot more new player friendly.
